    roof rack on topper?

most fiberglass toppers, regardless of the manufacturer, have a 300 lb weigh limit. I currently have an ASTRO topper with a full Yakima system. 72" cross bars, adjustable track, load warrior basket, 2 bike carriers, as well as a shovel, ax and hi-lift attached to the rack. Occasionally I'll have...

    BFG A/T vs km2

All I run are BFG A/T's, blizzard of '06/'07 only got stuck once with my BFG's and it was my fault not the tires, they powered me through everything, made my own roads through 2+ ft at times.

No idea what to sell for - 99 7.3L Crew/Longbed 78K (Franktown, CO)

ebay, cars.com, autotrader, NADA, Edmunds are all good places to start looking for a rough idea, wish I was in the market for upsizing as I might be interested, but the ol' lady informed me last week we need new carpeting, and soon.

Should I sell it or keep it?

hard to say, trade in is about $3,500 since it's loaded, to sell it outright I'd maybe get $5,500 for it. If you look at the pics of it on my build-up, I do off-road the truck regularly, granted it's not going to run to Panamint City or Rubicon, it's been over Mosquito Pass here in Co. a couple...

Should I sell it or keep it?

Need some outside unbiased feedback. Debating about keeping or replacing my '00 Dodge Dakota. I've had it since new, now has 132K on it. One of my biggest issues right now is that there is no longer a lift available, hasn't been for a few years, so at this point it's whatever I can get from the...

wouldn't work in a state with tough emissions laws though, that conversion won't fly.

    Thoughts on brush/grill guards

I used my winch to recover another vehicle and my own vehicle. Using the winch everything was fine and tight nothing moved, the winch and winch plate are central to the whole thing and keep it together and would equally (more or less) distribute the load to all mounting bolts. But, look at...

    Thoughts on brush/grill guards

Well, let me throw my $.02 in. Used to have a Manik Grill Guard/Winch mount on my Dakota. It attached at all 4 of the bumper mounting points. Was super strong, put it on in '03, finally replaced it in '12. The upside, it looked good, and gave my truck a different appearance. The downside: loss...

    Good A/T for snow?

My Dakota came with Goodyears in '00, at 11,000 miles sold them to my Dad for his Dakota and put a set of BFG's on. Those Goodyears were crap, one cross country trip with them was enough. Had to have them balanced, rebalanced and road force balanced twice. First set of BFG's went 45,000 miles...

    Power wagon diesel....?

if Dodge really wanted to do it, they would find a way around the mounting issues with the winch. It's kinda like the whole small/mid size truck segment. GM is still building the Colorado/Canyon, but for how much longer? Dodge and Ford have abandoned us, although the aftermarket abandonded us...

    LED off road lighting

actually, I am local to Denver, would be interested in seeing this as I'm thinking of putting a 20" on my bumper above my winch and possibly another on my roof rack.

picked up a new toy yesterday

didn't even make it a week, 2nd day I owned it, ordered a new windshield, then spool sliders for the rear, sliders for the front, also have engine guards, cover, mirror extenders, front fender extender is coming as well. Sometime in July, panniers and a trunk. Already planning to move a set of...

    My Dodge Dakota Q-cab

Decided modifiing one vehicle for travel wasn't enough, so picked up another one. '09 Kawasaki KLE 650 Versys, only had 10 miles on it when I rode of the dealers lot. Will give it a few months of breakin and learning time before the modifiying begins.

picked up a new toy yesterday

'09 Kawasaki KLE 650 Versys, only had 10 miles on it when I took it off the showroom floor. Dealer supposedly still has some '09's in crates, originally wanted $7,600 for it, since I was a cash buyer and had some negotiation room, was able to get it for $6,400, with new jacket and ppd 600 mile...

BMW riders - Thoughts on G 650 GS Sertao?

I'm 5'11 with a 33" inseam, I can straddle a stock height GS650 with my feet flat on the ground, the Sertao, is about 1.5" taller so I'm on my toes. My wife is 5'2", she could not get on the GS650.

Looking for a bike, debating GS650, Versys, V-Strom

This will be a first bike for me, plan to use it for commuting and light trail use once I get used to it. All 3 are in the same general range of price, BMW at the bottom V-Strom at the top. Thoughts? Opinions? looking at a late summer purchase.

BMW riders - Thoughts on G 650 GS Sertao?

looked at this very model last night, for the type of use your talking, they would recommend the regular GS650, as the Sertao is much more off-road oriented, and carries a $1,500 to $2,000 markup over the regular 650. Roughly about 1" taller, more aggresive tires, hand guards, larger windshield.

    My Dodge Dakota Q-cab

no real updates, between working my butt off and helping my Dad (had major back surgery on the 1st so I'm watching his house while he's in a rehab center) haven't had much time to work on it. Finally got my winch re-wired today and the winch cable back on. Wanted to get my lights all working but...

    FishAll50 F350 Fullsize Build

your slider idea for the front, I would take the topper to a topper shop and have them look at it, they may be able to retrofit something in. If you have any custom van places within reasonable, they would be able to do the window idea in the sides as well. Since your already doing as much...
