Which side are shore power and water hookups usually, driver or passenger? Do camp spots have a standard?

We use Casa as our guest house when she is "in port", so I think a "4x4 condominium" owners best bet is setting up the vehicle's shore power connections that work the best for being at home. In the past we have gone months at a time "off the grid", so if we were to end up in an established camp...

Buying bead lock super singles and need advice

gator70, I'm going to share with you a saying that i was taught at a young age... DON'T BARROW TROUBLE! Maybe you are "batting out of your league"? It is sort of like paddling into a break with double overhead barrels... If you are not willing or prepared to get bounced off the reef... you...

Lighten that load. Recovery gear, snow chains, flatbed decking....

You have proven yourself to me more than mechanically/ technically adept, so i am going to "brush" my reply with broad strokes. First I think that I should make it know (again) that the only place I want to have ANYTHING to do with ice is... In my Margarita's! So, I'll be no help regarding the...

Buying bead lock super singles and need advice

I think Charlie has a good point. The wheels/ tires on Casa are Conti 365/85 R20 MPT's on military beadlocks (steel) and weigh a little over 180 Kg (400 lbs) a piece and bolted on at 400 ft/lbs . Beyond that the thieves would have to have specific lifting jacks to lift a 10 ton vehicle up...

I'll see what i can find for you. I'll probably have good luck! Here's why...I live on the Central Coast of California. This area is quite unique for several reasons. The first being it is incredibly beautiful, second being that it has become incredibly expensive to live here. That is partially...

Crew Cab F800 Marmon Herrington AWD Conversion

I have a F700 4x4 that I remotored with a 6BTAA with just the slightest amount of pump modifications ( #10 plate & RPM springs to match the Allison MT653) and it has more than enough power! I don't think the "ExPo types" give American 4x4 rigs like ours the credit they deserve.

I'm looking for new shocks for my 2002 Tacoma

The truck is my "daily driver" and I have no intentions to use it for off-road driving or camping. Can any of you Taco experts suggest a good "reasonably priced" brand of shocks I should look in to?

External Water Storage Guides through Camper / subframe?

I'll throw in my $0.02 ( and most probably worth less because my rig is a F-700)... You might want to take a drive to your local commercial truck junkyard! Most commercial trucks (MHD) have "saddle" fuel tanks. Over the years I have used the mounting support brackets as the base frame to build...

OMG!!!! That is so Cool! I've owned Casa since 1994 and where "normal" guys might like to visit out of town strip clubs... I like to visit commercial truck junkyards! I have become friends with several of the owners over the years because they all get a kick out of a guy that has had a...
