    Fridge Straps?

I would do that as well if the ends would fit through the slider tie down slots.

    Fridge Straps?

I know just about any type of strap will do and for the past two years I've just been using para-cord to tie down the one in the back of the Jeep. However, we recently got an off road trailer that has a fridge slider in it and I was wondering if anyone had found a setup that they really liked...

    Photography trip to the VLA

I recently had the opportunity to drive down to New Mexico in the middle of the week to check out the Very Large Array (VLA). Some of you might remember seeing the VLA in movie Contact staring Jodi Foster. For those of you that do not know what the VLA is, here is the description from the...

    3-week Wyoming/Montana Experiment

@jhmoore Thanks for the info on Skalkaho Pass, I'll look that one up. And I completely understand about photography not being a spectator's sport. Even though my wife likes to take photos, I can't take her with me when I when I go out to photograph as I just feel bad about her standing around...

    3-week Wyoming/Montana Experiment

Great photos and it sounds like you had a great trip. I'm just starting to research an overlanding trip up to MT for next summer. I'd love to hit the rut and fall colors like you did, but my son will be with me so we have to do it in the summer.

Advice Needed:: Tacoma owner considering a ZR2

LOL, who said anything about buying someone else's lemon? I said an economically rational person does not buy a new truck, but instead waits for the depreciation to run its course.

Advice Needed:: Tacoma owner considering a ZR2

An economically rational person does not buy a new truck. Then the depreciation does not matter anyway. That's the truth right there.

Advice Needed:: Tacoma owner considering a ZR2

Talk to Nuthouse Industries about their bedrack with removable crossbars. You could get the standard bars and then a set designed to hold a crap ton of skies. They custom build each rack, so can do pretty much anything you can think of... and pay for. lol

Contact Nuthouse Industries about some hubs. I talked with them a lot at Expo West and they said they could match the trailer wheels to my (not purchased yet) ZR2. Their engineer owns a diesel ZR2 that he had there with a cool bed rack on it.

    Offroad Trailer really worth it?

I was really impressed with the Nuthouse Industry line of products. After talking with the company engineer for about 45mins, it was clear they really put some thought in the build and details of their products. It is also nice that you can order their trailers anywhere from the basic "box" to...

I don't think it is that odd that they put that warning in there. The truck only has a 1500lbs payload capacity and a small foot print. Not a good combo for a slide in camper. If someone need one of those, they should really be looking at a full sized truck.

I think skids for the shock mounts is the way to go to solve that issue. There are much larger differences between the Collie and the Taco that should be the driving factors on purchasing one over the other. I test drove both back to back and the Taco was so uncomfortable to sit in for even the...

Thanks. My favorite photo from the whole trip is the one of my son in his red jacket, pointing at the top of the Dunes. He already wants to go climb the Great Sand Dunes a few hours south of us in CO. Luckily, my mom has a place about 30 mins from the trail head that leads over the pass into...

    Three Generations in Death Valley.

The trip data came from Gaia GPS via my phone. I also used an inReach to track/log my trip. I did my advance planning on Google Maps to get the distances and rough times. For actual navigation, I used Gaia with the area downloaded for offline use. I just used simple way points for places I...

Thanks! Those are just screen shots from Google Maps using the Terrain view (as apposed to sat or street map). It's a little be of a pain to get it to route the way you want it to, you have to drop a lot of "destinations" along the route to force it to do what you want.
