    BAD AIM 2003 Z71 Suburban

As for electric fans my 2003 doesn't have one. I think the electric fans came along with hydro boost brakes by 2005.

2003 Tahoe Build - Family Overland Rig

Yes, the rock sliders got welded directly to the frame. I used the plates that came with the Trail Gear kit. The plate got welded on first and then the tube ends got welded to the plates. I'll get some photos of that up soon.

As for the cabin air filter you can get a kit to fit one into a 03-06 GMT800. I did this a few yers back but just put it on my build thread at: Build Thread

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

Here's a look at a limit strap setup without a coil over in the shock location. Great thread, makes me more interested in going from 33s up to 35s on my Tahoe.

Keep Tahoe or step up to Suburban?

Here's a way to look at it, coming from someone who owns a Tahoe and maybe now wishes they had a Suburban: 1) If you think a 100 series Land Cruiser is awesome but can't afford one then a Tahoe would be closer size-wise, so go with a Tahoe. OR. 2) If you like GMT800 series trucks/SUVs and want...

    BAD AIM 2003 Z71 Suburban

Welcome to the GMT800 group (aka Suburban mafia)! From the sounds if it you've got stock 17" Z71 rims and would like to keep them. With that I would say go for the 285/70R17. They will fit great, work fine with the 3.73 gears, and are widely available. Check out other folks build threads on...

    Why so few GM Builds?

Here's a build thread on a GMT800 Tahoe: http://northwestoverland.com/forums/topic/2003-tahoe/ Yeah it's the short version of the Suburban but it will do just fine for 6 adults especially if you get and are willing to use the "bench" front seat and bench second row.

    Los Angeles -Class Attack Sub(urban), Build / Collected Werks topic - '02 k1500 Z71

Let us know how those boxed arms ride/flex. I've benign thinking about getting a set but wonder how they compare to the adjustable ones they sell with the flex joints. I figure the stock arms have plenty of flex in all directions (good and bad).

    GMT-800 tire selection

I would second the recommendation for 285/75R16 or 285/70R17. They are common, fit without rubbing through the full range of travel and turning, and keep the RMPs reasonable even with stock gearing. I have 285/75R16 and 4.10 gears. This combination provides plenty of power for the hills and...

    Considering a 2005 Tahoe Z71.

Not my Tahoe but this is what it looks like. You could even get luck and find some like this with the steering wheel controls and the front bench.

    Considering a 2005 Tahoe Z71.

Yup, I believe that all GMT800 series ('00-'06) trucks/SUVs had an option for a front bench. It's the one with the fold down center console. I'll get a picture if you want proof, haha. You could also get a front bench in many of the GMT900 ('07-'13) trucks/SUVs. The thing with the GMT900 SUVs...

    Considering a 2005 Tahoe Z71.

As someone who has a Tahoe with two kids all this makes me think the a Suburban/Yukon XL would have been better now. So far we are making the Tahoe work. For extra space we use a large roof box. The Tahoe we have has the front bench seat and a 60/40 middle bench. That helps so we can still...
