The mud tires are fine. More noise can be heard, that's for sure, but it doesn't bother me. It's not an annoying noise to my ears. The drawback is probably the gas mileage but I can't compare with A/Ts, so I don't know if you have the same degradation. As for my issue, it's becoming complicated...

I also wanted to know, are your sway bars connected?

Btw, those are the exact Tiguan Bilstein struts I have and they don't seem to be valved properly as I get issues. I will change them for the MK5 ones as you're all saying you have a nice ride with them. If you'd like to try them out, mines will be for sale soon! Hehe :D I used the Tiguan rear...

The Easter weekend was the perfect occasion to keep the Sportwagen project going! Plastidipped the front end, cleaned up the car and installed roof rack bars! Could not help it and went for a little photoshoot!

And how do you feel about the rear? The stock mkv shocks are fine with the h&r lift springs as well?

Yes, I had read that thread and I thought my issue was actually theirs, but worst! Anyways, yes I have a couple more plans once I get the front end working well. I was thinking of a roof rack but I came onto those roof top tents recently which I really dig. I'll see if budget allows it, but...

Thanks a lot! That's exactly the confirmation I wanted. I don't have the HD struts, it's the Bilstein Touring for Tiguan. But I think the valving intended for a Tiguan is not appropriate for a Jetta. I initially looked into Tiguan struts because my Jetta struts were totally worn out and I...

Regarding the clunk, I could test on speed bump at low speed and could confirm it happens on the rebound. What I understand is that the suspension with the car weight on it is so stiff that it always stays fully extended. When going over a bump, it goes down a little, but quickly go back to the...

Yeah, it's really a fun thing to be pioneers in bringing solutions to lift our cars! I'm the only one in my area, that's for sure. I went at the VW dealer, and I got all those confused faces looking at my car, quite funny! Sorry for the link, figured out there's a typo and fixed it. Regarding...

Thanks for comments! I have to say that your project has been a great inspiration to get mine going! Thanks for that As for the the clunk, I gave some information in the previous post, but it can happen at very low speed, so topping out the stuts appears almost impossible as it's super stiff...

    Lifted MKV Golf

The struts have the stock bumpstops within the struts. I have to say that it's almost impossible that the struts tops out as it' REALLY stiff! :D And actually, I did a test climbing one wheel on a curb, then the other and heard the clunk when the second wheel climbed. I was going at really slow...

I finally gave the treatment that my 2009 Sportwagen 2.5 manual deserves! I'm still having an issue with the front as there's a big knocking sound on some bumps. I'll try to disconnect the sway bar and see if it improves. I used H&R Lift Tiguan springs and Bilstein Tiguan Struts and shocks as...

So you didn't like the pro comp rear shocks?

    Lifted MKV Golf

Yes, we got really nice information from Anti-Bling, it's almost a perfect fit except for the sleeve needed. In the meantime, I was thinking of getting the full Bilstein HD kit, struts and rear shocks. That would be a perfect fit. I'll see.

Nice. Are the jeep spacer a perfect fit? Also, I've seen another of your post where you ask for spacers for the front. Do you want to go even higher? :D I've read somewhere that the Tiguan H&R lift spring are good for a resulting 3" lift on the mkv. I wonder if going higher would arise new...

I'm thinking of using rear coilover perches as spacers in the back(http://www.esetuning.com/Solo-Werks-Solo-S1-Rear-Spring-Perch-Assembly-p/s1vw006-26.htm). Would that work? I was wondering if the size would fit the stock or tiguan springs. I know some guys with coilovers take the perches off...

Thanks for the detailed information. I was planning on possibly going with Bilstein HD on all four corners, but if the procomp install is relatively straightforward, I supposed the longer shock is best suited. Was also going to use those spacers for the rear...

I was comparing mkv rear shock to the given pro comp model: Pro comp: http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits-Suspensions-Shocks/ES3000-Series-Shock-Absorber.aspx?t_c=1&t_s=90&t_pt=3306&t_pn=EXP326515 Bilstein HD: http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Jetta_V--2.5/Suspension/Shocks/ES11382/ Maybe...

Awesome! Post pictures when done. Thanks for the info about the shocks. Do you know if the stock VW upper bracket of the shocks have to be modified?

Really nice! Could you post a link or number/model of the pro comp rear shocks? Might go down that way eventually! Thanks.
