Brought my 2006 Mitsubishi Montero to a fabricator

Alright, having going through the pain of ordering a front bumper from China, I finally got it on. I'm so glad I didn't start a group buy.. It would've been disastrous.. I had my fabricator basically redo the whole thing because it came from China with no brackets and it didn't fit at all...

New Member and ended my long search for a new (to me) Gen 3

Oh it's you! Welcome again! 100$ is a great deal! I mean the rear bumper won't protect you from rock crawling but it sure saved me some dings! I want a rear ladder too..

New Member and ended my long search for a new (to me) Gen 3

Welcome to the forum! Great looking Gen 3, gosh I wish I found a Viking white Monte with low miles...oh well. Yeah the 3.8 L is the way to go, this is my 2nd 3.8l Monte. Currently my other car is a 5.6 V8 and IMO the Monte doesn't feel under powered at all, feels perfect for overlanding.

    New guy with gen3 montero

I bought some smittybilt traction pads, but that was a mistake. They broke when trying to recover myself from snow. I would just invest in maxtraxx.

Gen 3 - Optional 2nd row DVD player

I've never had a problem with the screen coming down when off roading. If I remember correctly, it has a latch and the screen isn't heavy. I thought about replacing it as well. I'd be interested in what u find. I used the space where the huge moonroof would be and installed some overhead...

Gen 3 - Optional 2nd row DVD player

I have one in my 06 OME, preferred a sunroof but couldn't pass on the low miles. I don't use it at all, but when I had my double din installed, I noticed that the screen's resolution sucked and was pretty small. If your kids are young and your playing cartoons, I don't think they would mind...

Yeah I know it's practical to do so since I'm down there but, is it necessary? I don't really plan to get bigger tires or who knows maybe I will. How has the change of gearing effected ur Monty?

Hey earl! Good looking rig.. Kinda wish I had 16's wheels. I have 17's and it seems like they don't make the tires I want.. I wanted to ask u about the wheel spacer from Aus, did you get it yet?

Great pics man! Can't wait for the vids! That winch looks pretty generic.. Do they have a harbor freight where you live? I mean if you're going to spend that much money, you might as well have a store to bring it back to if it fails. Harbor freight has a warranty that you need to purchase but...

Brought my 2006 Mitsubishi Montero to a fabricator

Thanks inyo! The sliders are everything I had hoped for. (well for now at least, haven't taken them out yet) but they are bolt on. As far as the skid plates, the gas skid plate is 3/16 steel, and the rest is from Bushskinz.com down in Australia. Montypower got me into them and they are 4...

Thanks cnutco! Oh boy, tell me about it... It feels like I'm going at a snail's rate right now. I can't wait to get this bumper and winch on.. Do you use your winch often? I feel like once I get mine on, I could wander deeper into no man's land (since it's just mostly me and sometimes my dogs)

Thanks Jhill! oh no, the rear bumper was bought from ebay. I'm sure Big John would've just built a whole new rear bumper. As far as using the sliders as steps, I couldn't find anything like that online, well made for Monteros. Next is the front bumper, winch and snorkel!
