Newbie needs assistance with tire choice for new to me 2020 F550 4x4 Overlander

@Vampergt4 they only show the chrome ones on fuels actual website which of course for most of us overlanders is a terrible option and aesthetic. Found the pictures of the all black rears above online, but cant find pictures of all black fronts. I'm attaching pictures of the chrome, the mostly...

These are the FF09D in all matte black. Decently simple and clean in my opinion. obviously the fronts would have the same spoke design just no lip and convex rather than concave

Fuel makes a couple wheels for 10 Lug trucks. As with most aftermarket wheels, most are flashy and tacky but there is one style thats a simple straight spoke design.

Thinking I might run a 20" dually setup for anything in North America and when/if I venture south of Texas my Spares would be 22.5"

Whats wrong with airring down duals? Plenty if people do it here on long island to drive on the beach. Main reason I would want to run duals is in the instance if a blowout. I feel like a blowing out a super single would be terrifying, dangerous, and in many cases damaging to the rig, whereas...

Just a thought but if you are planning a trip through South America you could bring 19.5s as spares, (1 inner and 1 outer) obviously with the same rolling diameter. Best case scenario you never have to use them. Worst case scenario you get a flat on the 20" wheels swap on a 19.5, then get a flat...

Also I wouldnt do 22.5 tires. I do a lot of soft sand driving on local beaches here and need the biggest sidewall possible for airring down.

Is that some odd temporary thing or is that just a long term issue?

Interesting. I guess I just figured that 20" tires would be easy to find anywhere.

I was specifically looking at Hankook Dynapro AT2 in LT285/65R20 (so basically 35" diameter). These newest Dynapros are supposed to have extremely low rolling resistance for an all terrain tire which means maximum MPG and minimum noise. Theyre E Rated tires, and have a paper weight capacity of...

Would be interesting to see a cost analysis of MPG vs frequency of tire change. If it was anywhere near even I think the LT would certainly be the better option for comfort and "on the go" cost (meaning youre stopping less and paying less for gas during long trips) and your only added cost would...

OP, I seem to be in the same dilemma as you. I'm still in the planning phase so no real life experience from me, but I'm a bit neurotic when it comes to planning so I like to think I have a pretty good handle on things. I had an idea for this situation and am curious what users on here think...

C5500 TopKick 4x4 Crew Cab Build

Similar to you, I'm not a tire expert myself. I'm assuming theres a max width you can run on the tires before the rear tires crowd themselves together?

C5500 TopKick 4x4 Crew Cab Build

I'm going to be building my rig on a RAM 5500 chassis and looking to be closer to 15k pounds than 25k pounds. Would you still recommend keeping the DRW setup? And if so, any preferences on something with good offroad tread?

Mounting a camper to Truck Frame or Flat Bed? (Flat bed in place of sub frame)

I'm looking to buy a RAM 5500 to start my camper build on. I've seen a lot of threads in this sub forum that reference building a subframe for the camper to compensate for the flex of the trucks frame. If I were to mount the camper to a roll of style flat bed, would the flat bed body serve the...

Adding an Over Cab sleeper to a Travel Trailer?

Throwing around some ideas for my driving camper build. I currently have a travel trailer that I really love and simply put I'd like to mount it to a truck chassis. Problem at the moment is that as it sits the camper is too long to put on a truck so I'm planning on cutting off the bedroom and...

C5500 TopKick 4x4 Crew Cab Build

Hi there, like many others this thread inspired me to pursue a somewhat similar route. I'm new to the whole heavy duty truck game, but not so new to the overlanding/offroad camping game. I noticed you had custom wheel spacers made for the rear wheels to give you the correct offset in this "super...
