    Earth-cruiser NPR 4WD drivetrain issues?

It's a Jeep thing means you'll put up with huge design and quality issues. This JK sold for about the same price as my 2013 RAM Cummins. The RAM was a modern vehicle. The Jeep felt like is was a 20 years older design. At 40k, after ball joints and radiator, the final jeep kill was the...

    New 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel

These are probably too stiff, but I did a Carli suspension on my 21 RAM 2500 Cummins. I have the stock springs, front sway bar and the Bilstien's. I also have the Carli R1 rear springs. I have the Carli R2 springs because I'm carrying a constant 1000 lbs in the back. The R1's will carry it...

    Earth-cruiser NPR 4WD drivetrain issues?

My 2017 FUSO Earth Cruiser steers very good. No wander, no yaw under braking, no yaw in dips. It only has a slight bump steer when going through a big dip with both front wheels. But, if you didn't have a hand on the wheel, you'd never notice it. No corrections needed. I've own many (over...

2018 Earth Cruiser EXP - price reduced

The air-con in the rear is directly under the bed, so you'll hear some compressor noise. It doesn't have a very long run time on batteries, maybe 4 hours with no sun. Its best used by running it as you drive to the campsite to cool the house, then run it until the sun goes down. OR - plug in...

    Earth-cruiser NPR 4WD drivetrain issues?

Not so, they are on the private EC forums. Not here with the great unwashed. (unwashed trucks that is)

    Trail Pig 2018 PW Build

Over a month and no one asks?

The bigger the truck, the greater the (misplaced?) concern about payload?

I've been riding dirt bikes for almost 50 years. I've got a reflexive head duck from branches coming at my head that will never be modified.

    Earth-cruiser NPR 4WD drivetrain issues?

Only heard of a few complaints of the steering pulling.

    Durability of DCU shells?

Another to look at, Caravan Camper shells. All steel, in business for a long time. Small shop, most shells are custom and painted to match your truck. Can take a big load on top. Inovative venting system that pressurizes the bed area and keeps dust out. I've had a Journey model for a year...

Ram Chassis Cab vs 3500 Pickup for next vehicle? Input needed! For flatbed truck camper.

It does and it doesn't. For the Single rear wheel, the Diesel usually wins. For dual rear wheels, the gas usually wins, but not always. For the 3500 RAM, it's usually less than a 200# difference. For towing, it's no contest, Diesel wins, not even close...

Ram Chassis Cab vs 3500 Pickup for next vehicle? Input needed! For flatbed truck camper.

FYI, if you order a CC it will be provided as an 'Incomplete Vehicle'. You generally can't license it until it has a bed on the back. Because, it can be configured as anything from a tanker, bus or an ambulance. A PU, is a complete vehicle and will probably have cheaper insurance. A PU...

Ram Chassis Cab vs 3500 Pickup for next vehicle? Input needed! For flatbed truck camper.

On the RAMS, the difference between the PU and the CC is: PU (2500/3500) is box frame and the width is 42" on the outside rails. There are brackets from the original bed (deleted or not). Removing an 8ft bed can replace with a 7 x 8 1/2 ft flat bed or smaller. A 35" tire will fit under the...

Tapping the Gas Tank on a RAM HD

I've had experience with the old gasoline furnace in the VW bugs. Lots of melt downs with that. Diesel is so much safer because of the low vapor pressure. It's not going to fill the cabin with fumes if there's a leak. If you are going to tap the gasoline tank, I'd drill through the fuel pump...

Ram Chassis Cab vs 3500 Pickup for next vehicle? Input needed! For flatbed truck camper.

Can we agree that the OP would be better off with a Pickup over the C&C?

Earthroamer Founder "Bill Swails" passes away at 60

Met him when he first started selling the ER's. They sold for $75k! He was a nice guy. His first camper build was on a 2500 Dodge with a Cummins. He wrote for the Turbo Diesel Register for years, telling about his travels with the camper. Very good writer, his exploits were interesting. I...

Ram Chassis Cab vs 3500 Pickup for next vehicle? Input needed! For flatbed truck camper.

The Fourwheeler campers can tolerate some flex. The 2500 RAM Pickup doesn't flex with a fully boxed frame. At least my 2013 with an aluminum flat bed didn't and my 2021 2500 doesn't. The C&C trucks have a channel frame and will flex more, but still not much.

Tapping the Gas Tank on a RAM HD

A gasoline furnace is scary. I'd do a diesel one. I've seen builds that use a small tank for outboard boat motors. Easy to fill, comes with a quick connect.
