    285/75R18 Toyo ATs w/ newer 18x8 Ram rims - desirable for 2003/early 2004 Dodge 2500?

Agreed. The jacks were on because I was out doing a photo shoot of the outfit in new, stock condition. I don't like to travel with the jacks on.

Yes, yes. You caught me before hitting the road for a while... :) Camper is a Hallmark Milner.

    285/75R18 Toyo ATs w/ newer 18x8 Ram rims - desirable for 2003/early 2004 Dodge 2500?

I prefer lighter aluminum over steel wheels, but both work, and have Toyo AT II 285/75R18s on my 2014 Ram 2500, stock/no lift. Clearing on your older truck, not sure, bet they might be okay as they are not very wide, only 11.3" per Toyo's specs. Possibly minimal rubbing? Love the size, to my...

    AEV RAM Overland Rig

There are some advantages to diesel rigs (and some challenges/negatives too, like everything), and I'm a decades long diesel fan. Yes, agreed, that can be a good setup. You might also consider the Ram 2500 with rear coils... I'm enjoying mine. The AEV stuff is great and tempting, but remember...

    AEV RAM Overland Rig

One advatage is range... both on-highway and off. Diesels use much less fuel at lower engine speeds/idle than gas-powered mills. Also, for who knows how much longer, Ram is the holdout still offering a manual transmission in heavy-duty pickups for those of us who love driving them. Not much...

I was thinking similarly, that he might be able to drive and camp places this early in the season that would normally still have snow.

Okay, sounds reasonable 90k kilometers. Agree that being easy on the go-pedal helps ;)

    Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx

Wow, 90k! Presumably on your JK? Maybe that means one could get 50k+ out of a set on a big toque heavy diesel.

Helpful and interesting for you to share your past rigs and what you found lacking. Particularly interested in what you like, and dislike about the 4WD Sprinter.

    Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx

I could not agree more. The low tread depth on some of the less-aggressive all terrain tires, 16/32" or less, has never appealed to me. Less tread = less potential traction and/or ability to handle debris, etc. My current Toyo A/T II tires came with 17/32", which is just okay, I much prefer...

New Four Wheel UTE Flat Bed Model Coming Soon ...

Nice. Having spent much time inside a Hawk flatbed model chatting with Stan about the options during the 2014 Overland Expo West event, I left impressed by the amount of 'additional' space in a Hawk flatbed model.

    Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx

Yep, makes the tread decisions easier. Good idea. The Maxxis Bighorn is a good tire, the sets I've had have always balanced and gripped well. They are also loud and will probably wear fast. Most people spend much more time on-highway and a tread like the Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX makes sense...

    Diesel News: POST HERE

Agreed. I've never thought that the new, now current, and admittedly complex (compared to decades past) emissions systems would kill the Diesel engine, industry will adapt if possible. The benefits of Diesel engines will have to be compromised much more before gas, or another fuel system...
