GXV Patagonia on the Kenworth K370 chassis

I suppose the one pic could also be in support of the "to pass thru or not" thread since it would suck if that front wall was nothing but dead wall space...

    Pass-through really necessary?

We ended up leaving the foam plug at home 99% of the time unless we know we are going to be in extreme temps. I made a "curtain" using magnets in the hemline of some light-blocking drapery fabric that stores VERY small and performs almost as well as the foam plug. Not the insulating quality...

GXV Patagonia on the Kenworth K370 chassis

Got a couple of inside photos that (hopefully) show the great light and openness of the extra windows.

    Pass-through really necessary?

There is a third train of thought which is even if the passthru is more of a “crawl-thru” it creates more open space, additional window square footage and generally a more open environment. I don’t need it for security, and it’s not particularly convenient (my wife can get through it relatively...

    Pass-through really necessary?

But do they incorporate a pass-thru? lol

    Pass-through really necessary?

We may need to circle back to the pedantic thread about what determines an Integrated Overland Camper possibly? Maybe the pass-thru is a defining characteristic of the difference between an Integrated Overland Camper vs a Hardside Camper such as Lance, Bigfoot, etc? I think there is a forum...

GXV Adventure Truck; how many here?

I also seem to remember seeing some that had a "rotatable" bezel for horizontal mounting. But I may be wrong.

    Pass-through really necessary?

We simply enjoy our passthru as a means of extending the space, livability, and visibility/window square footage of our camper. I doubt we would have gone with something that didn’t have the passthru if only for that reason Not concerned about security and I suspect those arguments were made...

GXV Patagonia on the Kenworth K370 chassis

Yes, I am to believe that they are working on an extended cab model. You'll need to contact them about availability.

GXV Patagonia on the Kenworth K370 chassis

I would say all are at or above normal or average. I did just recently add some dynamat to the doors, not because I found it to be noisy but I had some laying around and we really like leaving the pass thru open and I know from previous experience that it really helps with the insulation. It...

GXV Patagonia on the Kenworth K370 chassis

We are planning to make a weekend trip in the rhino this weekend. Will see if I can get one from the inside with natural lighting.

Although these were taken while inside a big shop, hopefully you can see how much natural light that would be coming in the big windows. We wouldn’t trade them for anything

GXV Patagonia on the Kenworth K370 chassis

There is probably someone here that understands the ecological piece better but when we use an outside latrine as it were, all paper is collected and either burned or disposed of with the regular trash. We also use the chemicals in our cassette when we do use it and I would think that...

GXV Patagonia on the Kenworth K370 chassis

Indeed. The latrine actually meant that we didn't use our toilet /cassette) once during a 2 week outing. Keyne, let me try to find some interior pics and will post below. But a few notes. You're correct that we have the lounge forward, kitchen on pass side aft of the access door that looks...

    Thoughts on used EarthRoamer?

Unfortunate that this thread got this far down the path before this question was asked. I still contend that if you are clear about what your needs, wants and use cases are.....the right choice becomes obvious. If not, you are likely to be disappointed.

Looking for Good, Entry Level Knife Sharpening Kit Recommendations

I use knives a lot. Like....A LOT....several thousand critters skinned per year on avg. For a lot of that I’ve moved over to disposable blades but for my good knives, I pretty much use a steel to touch up and the Lansky system (see the review by project farm posted above) for actual sharpening...

GXV Patagonia on the Kenworth K370 chassis

Just thought I would drop a photo in here from our recent trip. Not to make it worse for you Aussie... We are loving our truck and it took quite the pounding to get to this particular spot but it was worth it for 2 weeks of near solitude.
