Oh boy. -NOW a build thread

The tire goes under the bed. It actually touches the frame rail. On the passenger side. I may have a picture in my build thread. F450 flatbed camper build. I will look. Where the little door is on the bed shown. The box / door is made 36 inches. And the tire fits there.

Oh boy. -NOW a build thread

There is another option for your spare. One can go on the passenger side behind the cab. The tires are 34 inches. That is the exact size to fit through the boxes. PM if you want pictures. I have done three trucks like yours.

    Need opinions Lance/Northernlie/alaskan/Northstar??

Yes the 830 is for a short bed. They were just from that same new Euro line of campers. They can come with the tent bed for more room. The dog can have his own bedroom.

    Need opinions Lance/Northernlie/alaskan/Northstar??

Several times you state the need for floor space. The Lance 1040 and 830 have the most floor space of any camper on the market with the European styling. You owe it to yourself to at least look at one. The Lance would have to be a used model. But that means less money.

    Reinforcing camper tie down points??

I find that the Fastguns do not have enough length to the springs. I think at least an inch is needed for offroading. fastguns do not have that much play.

    Reinforcing camper tie down points??

With all of the length that you have in the tie downs, I would check out the high tensile wire springs that they have a tractor supply. You do not want a rigid tie down. Also put centering guides in the truck bed. That will take 90% of the movement out of the camper .

    F 450 flatbed camper build

The bleach turned the aluminum a dull gray. Looks like flat gray primer. I am afraid to try anything else to remove the stains. Anything else might do the same or worse. Soap and water did not remove it. I might try an SOS pad.

    F 450 flatbed camper build

I put the camper on the truck today. We are planning a trip to Missouri. I wanted to sanitize the water tanks with bleach. Guess what??? Bleach stains aluminum. Not to bad. Three stain lines down the side of one box. It could have been real ugly. Learn by my mistake. Keep bleach away...

building a pop up camper box from scratch... as always 90% planning 10% doing

If you are going to use 2 x 2 for the bones. use 1 1/2 of high density foam in the voids. If I were doing it. I would go ahead and plan on using 2 inches of foam. you will find that 2 inches of foam does have a structural strength to it. Almost no need to additional structure if you could...

Hauling A Motorcycle With A Truck Camper

I use a three receiver set up on both the front and rear of my trucks. That way I can move the rack to either place. You will have to have the rack custom built for it to be raised up high enough to not effect your departure angles. But then it works on the approach angle also.

    Ambulance RVs

Let me add this to the mix of ideas. I bought a 4 x 4 truck and camper. Added a flatbed and storage boxes. When all said and done. Yes , I have $100,000.00 in the rig. If it exploded tomorrow. I would not go back the same way. I would buy a class c motor home for half that cost. I have had...

    Winch mounting options.

LR Max. You are very right in all of your observations. Let me add a few details to go along with this thread. This is a Dodge 4500 with a truck camper on the back. So I will not be taking it in severe off road locations. I would have two receiver tubes per locations to add strength for the...

    Winch mounting options.

The winch is a Warn 12K. The truck is a Dodge 4500, CC,4x4,Diesel. With a flatbed and Lance 1040 camper. I never did think of keeping the winch in the box when not in uses with the receiver tubes. There would not be a problem installing two receivers in the front to match two of the three in...

    Winch mounting options.

I am trying to figure out a way to use a winch but not have it permanently mounted in the front of rear. I have thought about mounting the winch on a plate. Then use chain to attach the winch to the front or rear of the truck as needed. This is a truck camper and I have additional batteries...
