    FS: Tent Stakes

For folks looking for some beefy tent stakes: give a look at army surplus aluminum ones. They're a foot long v channel aluminum & pretty decent. Can be found online & at surplus places near large military bases. I picked some up in Colorado Springs. One of the nice things I like about them is...

FS: Salem Oregon, MWE swing out hitch mounted bike rack $650.

Thanks for the bump! There has been a few interested local folks, and several VERY interested folks that would need it shipped. Due to its size & odd shape I can't for the life of me even figure out how I'd get it shipped. I would imagine the best bet for folks farther away to get it, might...

    Forest Service Road Adventure Mobile

Unless it's a bench.... It might be possible to find a less expensive rig, then swap in a "comfy chair" from a higher end model just for her. It'd likely also be "easier" to find a used passenger seat in good condition vs a replacement drivers side. Also-if you end up buying a rig: heated...

What are the downsides to a FWC?

In my Flippac try to secure my stuff as best as I can. Simple forest service roads can josstle stuff about quite a bit. I'm actually more concerned about some bozo doing something idiotic on a highway & causing a crash, all the more reason to secure gear.

GTRV Astro and Tepui Pajero in Vancouver B.C.

Sorry I have zero actual experience with either. My vote would be the Mitsubishi if you can drive right hand. Properly maintained it should have an excellent drive train, but that's the problem. I'd suggest taking any vehicle your not intimately experienced with to a reputable shop...

Garage Clean Out- ARB Patch Kit, Scepter Fuel Cans, Springtail Molle - SOLD

...if it helps: When I bought some scepter cans recently (before moving out West), the seller shipped by just wrapping them in Saran type plastic & put a shipping label on them. I'll have to dig thru my PM's, but I think it was under $50 to ship all 3 from LA to Boston. Given there size...

FWC Purchase and Camper Prep for Tennessee To Argentina Road Trip

Extra fuel & propane? I have no idea if you'd need to haul them or not, but I believe folks have mounted up carriers to the outside back wall of FWC's. Or perhaps just an extra storage locker?

FWC Purchase and Camper Prep for Tennessee To Argentina Road Trip

If your thinking of adding a bit more solar, check out renogy flexible panels. Although they state to have a 1/2" standoff rather than direct mounting, I would imagine it shouldn't matter as much given our application. I'm thinking of this one here...

Searched but no luck for Recommended Load Range E tires.

I run Nitto Terra Grapplers as well & like them. Same tread pattern as Toyo, but cheaper. The only downside to the Nitto's (if I remember correctly) is that they weigh more than other "E" rated tires. I "think" there is a significant weight difference compared to the same tread Toyo. For us...

Is This Van Stealthy Enough to Stealth Camp With?

In the US most parking lots are signed "no trespassing, parking only for ___ & for ____ time period" or you will be towed, police will be notified etc etc. in Massachussettes towns & cities have it posted at town & city limits "no overnight parking". Makes it difficult I would imagine for...

Flip Screen + Flip Pac + Toyota Tacoma

I don't know if they still sell these or not. I made mine using 2 hanging type door screen I bought from Home Depot & cut them to the length I need. They're the kind that has a split down the middle & connect at the splits using magnets. I bought some more magnets in the small hardware...

Weight capacity to truck shell mounts

I can't say for sure, but it's probably not best to dual purpose the leer mounts. I'd suggest selling the stock/bulky ones & go to a Home Depot or Lowes & check out Spring Nuts & Superstrut stuff and make your own small mounts to slide into the Utilitrac. You could probably make 2-4 small...

Is This Van Stealthy Enough to Stealth Camp With?

Stealthy enough depends on the neighborhood. But given your generalized intent (you'd know the area well soon enough), yeah absolutely it is. Restful nights sleep on the other hand depends upon you. I mean if your going to jump at every bump noise, then no. I for one couldn't do it, I tried...

WTB M101A2 or A3 Trailer (Mountain West Region)

I have an A2 with surge brakes & dual parking/hand brakes. Has a quickie 4pin led taillight conversion I'd sell. No deal of the century though at $1700. Has the original lamps, wiring & a 24->12V conversion plug boxed up. Plus has the ribs & soft top. Registered in Mass, located in Oregon. Was...
