Refreshing a Built Range Rover Classic - Thread

I’ve been a longtime member of ExPo and a Land Rover addict for nearly two decades. This is the first “build” thread I’ve done on here, however. I bought this 1992 Range Rover Classic County over a year ago and, in my usual fashion, decided to give it a new lease on life. For some reason, I just...

New Defender 90 vs. 2 Door Wrangler Rubicon

Are we talking a double-duty daily driver and weekend light trail warrior? The Defender. Are we talking I want to go anywhere without wrenching? The Wrangler. Modern Land Rovers are pointed squarely at the pavement crowd, and are therefore limited by that audience's desire to have absolute...

1980 Land Rover Lightweight Series III Build

Wow what a transformation. I've always been a Rover V8 acolyte, but I think the TDI gets the job done in that thing. Great job!

2012 Range Rover HSE Build/ Travel Write Up

I think the later, 5.0 L322s will be the RRCs of the future. The HSE is well suited to this kind of play, especially if you find one with a rear locker.

Anyone here explore with an L405?

I'd say ditto if I hadn't rung my hands over the same decision a year ago. Once I thought about it for a while I realized the V8 LR4 was the way to go. It is much easier to modify and, with any available bumpers, has far superior angles. The tire choices and price canyon were big factors me as...

    Discovery 3 (LR3) and Discovery 4 (LR4) Registry

2013 LR4 with the HD package. It's my second LR4, and I've had it for around 2 years. I hunted 6 months for the last of the V8s with black leather/black wood and HD before finding this one. Tactical Rovers bumpers front and rear, 285/60/18s on Compomotives, TRE winch line, some aluminum...

1995 5-Speed Manual Land Rover Discovery 1 Price Drop to $16,900

You are comparing sales on a wholesale dealer auction site, frequented by dealers that are mostly buying cars than can be financed, with a high end retail auction site. You are also comparing an auto with a 5-speed, and that auto pops up from time to time but the seller never responds to buyers...

87K Range Rover - Headgaskets, ARP bolts, Ported Heads, Arnott Gen IIs, etc.

Thanks! The work was done at my family's shop, so yes I had a hand in most of it. When I bought this truck I had a 2002 that had been wrecked after having the air suspension overhauled (rebuilt compressor, valve block, Arnott Gen II springs). I prefer EAS, so we swapped everything over.

87K Range Rover - Headgaskets, ARP bolts, Ported Heads, Arnott Gen IIs, etc.

Hey everyone. Long time no see. I am clearing out some garage space with the help of Bring a Trailer. I know Range Rovers aren't everyone's flavor, but figured I'd share all the same. I'm letting this one go this week with no reserve, so I am not sure how to satisfy the price rule. I gave a ton...

2004 Mitsubishi Montero Limited - Atlanta, GA $5,500

This is a sharp unit. You have done pretty much every preventative maintenance item one should do to a Montero. The only parts I have ever had fail outside your list are those position switches on top of the transfercase. At 154K, they may have already been replaced.

    FS: 99 Toyota 4Runner SOLD

Not to be that guy, but what size lift and tire is on it? It looks healthy. Also, is that a RR locker button to the left of the steering wheel? If so, I'd advertise that as 3rd gens with lockers are some of the most desirable Yotas on the planet.

SOLD Lifted Rhino P38 Range Rover - Atlanta, GA

Up for sale is one of my Rhino P38s. This truck is a 2000 model, 1 of 250 made, and has ~137K on it. It spent most of its life in California, then a year in New Jersey, and its been with me in Atlanta for about a year. This thing is rust free, and sits on OME lift springs with Terrafirma shocks...

2003 Land Rover Discovery - Expedition Ready

Someone has not been paying attention to the market for low mileage D2s... As an aside, I do not see how a D2 without a CDL can be considered "overland ready." One would really tear up trails waiting on the traction control to assist.

Where to buy Montero 5x transfer case switches in the USA?

Hey everyone, I have a 2001 Montero (fullsize) Limited that is throwing Code 33 for the Transfercase Position Switch 2. I have owned a few Monteros, all Gen 3s, but this is the first I have had with this issue. The switch sets are all over the internet for around $40-50, but that seems too cheap...

    FS: 2008 MB 500 G Wagon

I too am shocked to hear of a 5spd trans failing, especially at 90K. I have seen quite a few 200K+ G500s, and a few G55s nearing the mark, pass through my family's euro car repair shops on the original drivetrains--trans included. I wouldn't trust the 7 speeds any farther than I could throw...

"Very large heavy duty 4X4 truck" in CA

10.4 liter Caterpillar TD V8 and all that hardware for $6,500? If it didn't cost an arm and a leg to ship something so heavy, I'd buy it for the heck of it.

SOLD Rust-Free Land Rover Discovery Starter Kit - ARB, Mantec, Newer Engine, U-Joint Axle, 5-SPD Kit, 7-Seater Kit, Spares, etc. (ATL)

Logan, I supposedly have someone coming this weekend to grab the whole package. I will ask about the Mantec, but given its rarity I imagine it's in an important factor in their purchase.
