Critique my solar charger/battery monitor setup?

I’m finally watching this video...wow! So much dangerous and wrong with that setup. Just wow. Charging through a cigarette plug. No wonder he only got 12 amps. Using the male end of a 30 amp 110v plug for his charging feed so he has live bare leads hanging out there. ******?! Just don’t do any...

Critique my solar charger/battery monitor setup?

I have 6awg from my converter to the batteries from the factory and I have seen 50 amps. It’s 20-25 feet one way. I’d swap that breaker for a 60 amp. It will still protect a short but allow the converter max. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You’ll be impressed with what that progressive converter puts out when the bank is drained enough for it to go into bulk mode. I’m actually thinking hard about selling my Honda 2000i and buying a 1000i to carry with me on trips in the winter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Critique my solar charger/battery monitor setup?

As an aside, if you are contemplating any of this, your first purchase should be a shunt based monitor. Install that and then go on a couple of trips to make some observations. You will probably be way under or over on your estimation of the size battery bank and charging setup you actually need...

Critique my solar charger/battery monitor setup?

Thanks. I just think the people that are here asking for help are the ones that have done a little research and are going to do it right. The other guys are over on irv2 forum asking why their Gopower setup they bought at camping world won’t charge their single Grp 27. Haha. Sent from my...

Critique my solar charger/battery monitor setup?

I use a shunt based monitor. I’m not going to base my recommendations on people that aren’t setting up their solar controller properly. That’s ridiculous. You guys just want to argue. Seriously, you are arguing that I am wrong because people don’t set their stuff up correctly. That’s just...

Critique my solar charger/battery monitor setup?

Have you had that combo on a camper before and consistently failed to see it go to 100%? Because I have had that setup on multiple campers and consistently seen 100%. The solar will charge regardless of whether the truck is hooked up or not and will get the batteries to 100% if there is sun...

The guy is installing solar. Bulk charge while driving with the truck. Finish off with solar. The combo works exceptionally well. He will be at 100% the majority of the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ford Superduty Tremor "off road" 2020 F250/F350.

That’s insane. These trucks are $60-90k. I’m not making a decision that large based on ten minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ford Superduty Tremor "off road" 2020 F250/F350.

You guys really buy something as ubiquitous as a pickup truck without an overnight test drive? I could see that for a Corvette or something but a pickup truck or a run of the mill SUV? No way. I can't remember the last vehicle that I bought where I didn't have it overnight first. Gotta crawl...

Critique my solar charger/battery monitor setup?

So we went from not wanting to run anything larger than 10awg to installing a 1500watt inverter and running 2awg? Wow. Just buy these two things and call it a day. If you end up wanting to add a dc charger later you’re already set up for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Need help deciding, Why a Tacoma over a full size truck?

Plenty of us do exactly that in fullsize trucks. We're just more comfy doing it and our kids get the same memories. The following comment isn't directed at you tacollie, it's just a general observation. For some reason, there are a ton of people on this particular site that interpret...

Using solar to charge primary battery.

Let’s back up. You don’t need to recharge anything with solar if you are only using two 2amp lights for a couple of hours each night and you drive the truck much at all the next day. If they are lit continuously from 6-10pm that’s only 16 amp hours. If your starting battery can’t handle that...

Bench test of RENOGY 40A DC to DC Charger

Just FYI, every single product I've found from Renogy was a rebadged generic chinese product with the other "brands" easily found on Amazon or Alibaba. It won't be long until the generic versions of this show up too. That's why this product is as limited as you guys are finding out. Also, the...

    Rigid HVAC Micro DC AirCon

1500 BTU in a popup truck camper isn't going to do anything more than piss you off at the effort you spent installing it. Seriously. Buy a 5000BTU window unit from a pawn shop and install it in the door opening to see how that does cooling your camper before spending time on something less...
