    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

I never once said it was about saving money. Actually I said the opposite. I’ll spend good money not to drive a 11-16 6.2 regardless of how cheap they can be found. I’d still be in a diesel if the EPA wasn’t cracking down emissions modifications. Money has nothing to do with it. Reliability does

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

The lower torque curve of the 17+ 6.2 makes it a much better driving experience. It’s not fast by any means, but you dont have to hammer it to make it get out of its way.

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

I’ll be your huckle bearer! I don’t mind used trucks at all, but with the mileage I drive I’d be replacing them far too often if I didn’t start at new. That said you won’t catch me dead in an 11-16 gasser. I prefer trucks that can get out of their own way. The 17+ 6.2 was a big improvement over...

What the payload on that thing? Single cab F350 gasser has to be pretty dang impressive!

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

I’ve got a 22’ 7.3 on Carli 2.5” kit and Lone Peak camper. I’m running 305/70-18s though. I’m seeing 12-12.5 on the highway with it.

Ford 10 speed with regear anyone done it yet

As someone with a 7.3 and 4.30s with full time camper I wouldn’t want 4.88s. I’m running a 305/70-18, which is roughly a 35.5x12. Low end torque is never an issue, but highway RPMs are as high as I’d like them to be. Id think they’re perfect with 37s.

Is Offroading in a SuperDuty Really That Bad?

I go through 1 set a year in my company truck. I use it for personal and work. Lots of miles. Some years north of 80K. I get 2-3 years out of tires on my personal truck (still sees 15-20K a year), and 3-4 out of tires on the wife’s 4Runner. So consistently buying tires every year for my company...

$61,880 for an 7.3 F-250 XLT Tremor. Can I have some of that good stuff you have?

Is Offroading in a SuperDuty Really That Bad?

I go through 1-2 sets of tires a year. I have Discount mount larger tires every single time. I’ve used multiple locations without issue. As long as they’re approved for the rim width they don’t give me any issues. I typically go one size larger than stock, but in my 250 I go a couple sizes larger.

    Lone Peak Overland

I did this at first, but had issues keeping my cigarette plug plugged in. I ended up just cutting the 12V fridge wire, and wiring it directly into the Juicebox. It’s worked well this way.

    Lone Peak Overland

Have had mine on for about 5K miles so far. Spend a lot of time at 80-85 on the highway, and haven’t had any issues yet. Hoping it stays that way.

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

38K miles on my 22’. Carli 2.5” lift and 305 Mickey Thompson’s weighing in right at 9000 lbs. Just averaged 11.8 round trip for 1300 miles with a lot of time running 80-85. I’m typically 11-12 mpg depending on speed, but can see 13+ if I keep my cruise at 65. I rarely do though.

    Lone Peak Overland

Bingo. Tyler (ULAG) recently designed it, and is releasing them to his Etsy store soon. I’ll be snagging one most likely.

    Awning recommendations?

I run an OVS 270+ and never deploy the legs. I live in far west Texas where a “gentle breeze” is everyone else’s strong wind, and haven’t had any issues.

Truck cap with full hatch door?

Lakeland Truck Caps makes one. It’s pretty utilitarian design though.

XLs can be had with any motor. However they come standard with the 6.8. You can option for the 7.3, 6.7 standard output, or 6.7 high output.

    That’s more than my 17’ F-350 much less my 22’ F-250 lol

Is Offroading in a SuperDuty Really That Bad?

An old 7.3 powerstroke wasn’t very heavy compared to trucks these days, and made far far less power. With a heavy foot, an 8800 lb truck, and 1200 lbs of torque I could keep tires on my 350 for 40K miles. In a 7000 lb 7.3 putting 400 lbs of torque to the ground it would be much easier. Tires...

Is Offroading in a SuperDuty Really That Bad?

First two things I’d do is pull the front sway bar completely and drop tire pressure. It’ll be liveable then. However a completely stock super duty with 65+ psi and sway bar intact will be miserable.
