    2018 power-wagon comfort/expo build

Yup, and for good reason. Just got back from a loop on the Mojave Rd. and the AZ strip. Nothing tough, but it is a good truck for longer journeys. Seriously considering a hallmark Milner to replace the ARE shell. Last year it was southern UT. Not as nimble as my 80, but way more comfy. With the...

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

Hmm, interesting. Bottomline, for the coin we're forking over, the ******** better work. I don't mind not having the D ring mounts as they are poser jeep points anyway and I bet they are causing the sensors to alert. That said, I want the sensors to work. And, if any of you RAM folks have...

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

Hmm, this is not good news about E1. I need to check with them RE where I am in the build schedule, but I ordered back in mid-april. I may cancel the order if they can't guaranty the issues have been resolved.

    Ram with canopy

It would be interesting to find out what it cost more or less as equipped, with fridge, stove etc., weight and then compare to a say hallmark or Phoenix pop-up. I know the Barroud by itself is over $2k.

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

Any update from Expo1 RE the camera and rear park assist? This is what I got from them yesterday from Roger: This is what I can tell you the rear park sensors have to be put in the hole correctly so it can give you the correct readings. It seemed like the one we did for SEMA has gotten better...

    Ram with canopy

Agree. Boils down to where you plan to go, for how long, and is it going to be a dedicated rig or dual purpose. Oh, and how much $$$ you're willing to part with. :)

    Ram with canopy

LOL! Forgot about that water tower out there at the Coconino County Fairgrounds. Haven't been there in many years, and many more beers! Pretty sure most of that facility was built by the CCC during FDR's New Deal. Seriously.

    Ram with canopy

Thats a Barroud RTT up top. Had one on my LX450. Mixed emotions about it. Any RTT sucks when nature comes calling at 2am. I tend to agree with Dalko on this one. Those tray ideas are interesting, and provide for good access to food prep, but other downsides IMHO. Cost being one of them...

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

I had done some camera research last week. You can get the harness for a chassis cab and the whole harness out of the tailgate, change some pin-outs, and I can't really remember what else. There is also a company that sells a whole plug and play kit that comes with a Sony camera, kinda meant for...

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

Welp, ordered the E-One dual swing-out today at lunch. I had been vacillating on which vendor to go with, but after seeing your pics, sold me. Unclear on what their NATO/Scepter mount system looks like, Roger is supposed to email me some images. Worst case I'll rob the Slee tray of my Lexus as I...

Is a swing out tire carrier worth it, or more of a PITA than it is worth?

I have a Slee on my 80 and just ordered an Expedition One for my Power Wagon. I don't find them annoying at all, well built ones are quite, protect your body (at least the Slee's will) when you drop of a shelf, extends your range via fuel, and/or water, get's your trash out of the way. I've got...

Project “Polar Bear”: 1989 V2500 Suburban

No doubt it has a distressed white rectangular mark on one of the pockets from the cig pack. Wonder how long it will be until he and Bill fab up a new front bumper. Err what happened to the Exxon wrecker?

Found Larry's Senior YB pic. No wonder he wanted a PW.

Project “Polar Bear”: 1989 V2500 Suburban

Forgot I came that close. Was a pucker moment, but no carnage, and problem solved now with some White Knuckle sliders.

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

The DS WK slider is indeed a PITA. I have a two post lift and used my transmission jack to hold the sucker in place as I battled all the ******** that runs down that DS frame rail. It was still a **********. For those that can't quite swallow the price tag of that ExtremeAire stuff, take a look at the...

    The Camp 4x4 Bus - 1973 Suburban 8.1 Swap & Build

Wow, I'm shocked about the rust. That's the front DS right? It always pointed uphill in our driveway, think that it came from the windshield down the A-pillar? I suppose after that many years, it could have been from snow off boots/shoes and it just got held by the carpet and backing...

    The Camp 4x4 Bus - 1973 Suburban 8.1 Swap & Build

Still so odd to see the truck I grew up with and learned how to drive back in '77. Glad to see process going forward again!
