What is gained by a gas 3/4-1 ton over 1/2 ton truck?

A half ton is limited by its physical capabilities. A 3/4 ton or 1 ton is limited by the sticker on the door, as their physical capabilities far exceed what they law says they’re capable of.

Pricing vs MSRP on Custom Order F-350 July 2022

I know 450 allocation is different than 250s and 350s, so this may be apples to oranges. I ordered my 250 in October, and received it in May. I was told January or February delivery, but I knew going in that I wouldn’t be that lucky. I ordered a Tremor with Lariat Black package and gooseneck...

17-22 longbed Super Duty bed rack

I’ve got a bed rack I built for my 17’ 350 about 5-6 years ago. Has seen quite a bit of use all over the West. The rack is somewhat sunfaded on the paint, but I’m otherwise great condition. Almost forgot the night before one of our trips I fabbed up a crude kayak rack that Carrie’s them over...

Pricing vs MSRP on Custom Order F-350 July 2022

Long bed Tremors are not an option unless it’s new for 2023. I’m typically a long bed guy, but I had to go short bed specifically for the Tremor this time around. If you just want a Tremor suspension it’s a 350 single rear wheel Spring pack with different coils and shocks up front. By no means...

Pricing vs MSRP on Custom Order F-350 July 2022

They’re 2% on Super Duty’s, but Ford has already closed the order banks for 22’ MY. Doesn’t matter what dealer you go to you can’t place an order for a Super Duty until the order banks repopen later this year (Sep-Oct if we’re lucky.) Typically September, but they’re very far behind right now...

    2500/3500 Ram/Chevy/Ford??

I think you’re right. I haven’t seen even a bare bones Crew Cab 6.7 4x4 break out of the 2500s. I don’t pay any attention to regular cabs though. I’ve seen a few 6.4 Hemi Crews break 3K though. Reality vs what the brochure says are two totally different animals.

    2500/3500 Ram/Chevy/Ford??

That’s awesome. Care to share the details of the truck. I haven’t seen one get even close to that on the actual door sticker. The 6.7 Cummins is hell of a motor, but it’s heavy and eats up a lot of available payload.

    Truck For Kenai Scout?

I’ve got a few Carli goodies in the garage, and have some adjustable Foxes in order from Accutune as well. Slowly collecting parts to start piecing together a very mild rig.

    Truck For Kenai Scout?

Yes sir. It doesn’t directly effect the payload capacity, but the limited options it’s available with (CCSB) does as well as being higher trimmed adding weight to an already heavy truck. It was available in 2022 in Lariat and higher trims though. I traded my 17’ 350 CCLB Lariat for a 22’ 250...

    Truck For Kenai Scout?

Oh and my payload on a fairly well optioned 250 7.3 Crew short bed Lariat is 2800 lbs with a 10K GVWR. An identical short bed F350 would be exactly 1500 lbs higher. I’ve got the Dana M-275 rear axle and spring pack that the single wheel 350s use. Only difference on mine is door sticker. Some...

    Truck For Kenai Scout?

I’ve had quite a few diesels, and swore I’d never buy a gas HD truck again. I’ve had plenty of them for work and play. My last truck was a 17’ F-350 6.7 diesel seen in my sig picture. It was tuned and deleted and made some good power (much more than stock), and was a pleasure to drive on 35s and...

    Truck For Kenai Scout?

The Tremor does not lower the GVWR rating by any means. You can get a single wheel short bed FX4 with a max GVWR of 11,500, and you can get the same in a Tremor F350. However stepping up to a long bed and you can get a 12,400 GVWR, but a Tremor is not available in a long bed. Either way a Tremor...

What is gained by a gas 3/4-1 ton over 1/2 ton truck?

Sounds like you’re talking about a Tundra. The absolute most efficient way to turn gasoline into noise without doing much of anything useful. I’ve got an 18’ Tundra and a 22’ F250 for reference, and have had 2 other Tundras as well as a few handfuls of 3/4 and 1 tons.

What is gained by a gas 3/4-1 ton over 1/2 ton truck?

Highly doubtful. The 20+ 6.7 is a monster compared to the 17-19, and my 17’ wouldn’t leave 6th pulling long hills with 10k behind it on 37s.

    2500/3500 Ram/Chevy/Ford??

I’ve only got 3500 miles on my 22’ 7.3 Tremor, but I’m pretty pleased with it as well. Came from a 17’ deleted and tuned 6.7 F-350, so I was a bit hesitant that I’d be unhappy with the power. I can’t say that I’m unhappy in the least. Mileage isn’t great, but that was expected. I’m averaging...

    Am I being ridiculous?

I love that drive. Southern Idaho can be kinda ugly, but once you hit highway 93 it’s freaking gorgeous. Of course Moab is always a favorite. I never knew red rock could be so pretty until my first trip out that way.

    2500/3500 Ram/Chevy/Ford??

I wouldn’t either. What configuration is that? Doesn’t sound like a 2500 with Cummins or a PowerWagon. Could be, but I’m skeptical. If it is that’s awesome.

    2500/3500 Ram/Chevy/Ford??

Neither a 2500 Ram with a Cummins nor a Powerwagon will have very much payload which is what you desire when loading a truck up with tons of gear. The heavy diesel motor eats up quite a bit as does the lighter rating of the softer suspensioned PW. If you’re going Cummins go 3500. A 6.4 2500 non...

    UTV Overlanding?

I can fit 2 coolers, 10 gallons of gas, a small 2200 watt generator, a small tool kit, and a single gear tote tote in the bed for now. Considering building a bed extender to add a little bit more cargo space on bottom. In the cargo rack will be stored clothes in dry bags, camp chairs, a spare...
