I got back from LA lastnight; incase anyone is wondering, it is very hot out there.
My guy called Friday at 4:45 and said "come get your truck". He did everything that he said he would. He told me that I would have never made it to LA because the cooler was cracked. I am glad that it happened...
He couldn't get a good reading on the gauge because the truck needed to cool down some more. I asked if he would have time to do the delete today after it cooled off and he said no.
I asked if he had the big flow through cooler in stock and he said yes but he wouldn't have time to get it on...
That is the plan Carl!
I am supposed to be driving to LA right now but I am sitting at the repair shop instead.......Yesterday it was smoking like hell and loosing power on take off. This morning it was fine.:smilies27
I brought it in anyway, I wouldn't want to start a trip out worried if I...
Thanks Too Tall; I am not sure if it is registered comercial or not. Once I got the title I handed it over to the bank to hold on to for a couple of years......
I am planning a fold down bed on the back wall but a hammock might have to do for now, good idea.
Thanks Chilli; I am contemplating a spoiler for looks and mileage but not sure of how I want it to look.
I read your thread; very impressive! I like the ramp, I would love a lift gate on mine but a ramp would certainly help a lot!
Cheers!

I think the one I was looking at was the 6,500 watt.
First sized for the AC/Heat unit in the truck. Then add a welder for the truck, that's pushing it. This size could also be used at the house if power was lost.
I don't like under sizing anything. I undersized this truck trying to stay out of...
I did that for years and I don't want to do that anymore.
I am building this for what I want.
I want to be able to change anything and everything from a regular seated position. All controls at my finger tips reach.
If you spend 12-24 hours (not common but it happens) driving it is nice to...
Thanks tank; I bought 4) 6" LED light bars that I need to mount. 2) on the back corners and one on each side pointing down.
A light bar would be nice on the top bar but my, they sure expensive!
Speaking of expensive; I picked out a nice Yamaha inverter/generator sized correctly so I wouldn't...
Thanks Ed; I am building this for me and no one else. I am almost always by myself on the road and if there is someone in the passenger seat, more than likely I am not concerned with what they think of my ride or their comfort. :D
Here is the top of the console I made:
The function is good...
My Ranch Hand bumper finally came in and was installed. The install quoted price was $80 and well worth it. Come to find out, the (original) bumper had taken a good hit and both the supports were collapsed inward.
I work slow but efficiently.
I don't like the console that I made so I will...
Yes and no.
I am thinking 8' wide at the top and taper down to the cab conture (3' maybe) and a lip over the windshield.
Aerodynamic yes, adding aluminum to deflect the sides, yes.
Worth the trouble and material; not sure. That's why I am reading here.
I know that one can't see the design in...
I saw one on a snap-on truck that got me thinking.
I plan to build it myself out of aluminum and have it epoxy painted or Rhino lined black. It is a 50/50 of looks and function. This is my work truck and the company pays for my fuel so I would guess they would pay for material if it will help...
I would love to see more details about this thread.
In the future I plan to do at least a scoop over the cab to improve MPG.
My truck has the same aeroyodynamics (and MPG) as my Jeep.
Like a brick.:)
I built my console/sub box last weekend. I want to drive around with it for a week or two to make sure I like it before I skin it.
Everything is just velcroed for now for temporary placement.
I ordered a complete JL Audio system from Crutchfield that should be very impressive. I am...
Over the weekend I ran some 1 1/2 sch. 10 stainless pipe. I mounted my rear camera to it and ran the cable through it. I will also mount lights, antennas, and whatever else that I might think of. I plan to weld tabs to it for future projects before I paint it black (or have it powder coated or...
Thanks Nathan, like I needed more things to spend money on.:coffee:
I do appreciate the post and I am only about 30 miles from him. I will do at least part of what he was talking about. Dad had his done locally, I will compare the two.
I call Crutchfield to place an order tomorrow, Norm was...
