Yes, you have to turn the gas so that its on as low as possible until it heats up or else it just puts out the flame with too much gas. I have been using the giga power gas.

Take it back to who you bought it from. they should give you a new one and they will send that back to ARB.

Trasharoos are a great product and are warrantied. The sun does fade the color some here in AZ. It works great for everything not just trash. I typically just put it on for each trip to extend the life of it.
