James Baroud RTT & Awning with Eezi-Awn K9 Rack?

James Baroud RTT & Awning with Eezi-Awn K9 Rack? Anyone running this combo? Tent needs to mount above the slats because of shell mounting position, and to (hopefully) provide clearance for awning brackets. Apparently, L-shaped awning mount brackets need to point DOWN instead of up for clearance...

Handmade Leather Boots for Overlanding / Hiking / Etc.?

Yeah; looking at them too. I'm finding that they're all spendy but, hey, quality costs, right? And if you're gonna wear 'em for twenty years, suddenly they're not all that spendy anymore... :)

Handmade Leather Boots for Overlanding / Hiking / Etc.?

They're on my list. Read somewhere that they were sold a while back, hopefully all the same.

Handmade Leather Boots for Overlanding / Hiking / Etc.?

Ideally something that's comfy to drive with but also good for rocks, forest etc. The synthetic stuff wears out, while leather can go for decades with rebuilt soles. Looking into options. Haven't seen $1k boots yet; more like $400-$700. Seem to be having somewhat more success searching HUNTING...

Handmade Leather Boots for Overlanding / Hiking / Etc.?

Wondering what's out there, with comfort and extreme durability being top priorities. Everything I'm seeing in the high-end boot market is basically a work boot or a fire boot; they may call them wildland or forestry boots, but whatever--they don't seem intended for overlanding, hiking and the...

    Build Weight Master Thread

Oh I don't doubt it. Just wonder what other interesting stats may be available. Like 40% of all accidents involving a rear-ending. (Reason enough for front and rear armor.) I remember reading some absolutely insane figure about motorcycle fatalities skyrocketing in the early morning hours...

I'm guessing the insurance industry and maybe the NHSTA would be good sources for such stats?

    Quality Propane Tanks for Overlanding?

General question: What length hose do you find yourself using--and do you take the tank off the truck for cooking, use a slideout or separate table?

Standard Awning -- DS or PS Mount, and Why?

Ah, good points, thanks. Anyone ever shorten a snorkel to accommodate an awning?

Standard Awning -- DS or PS Mount, and Why?

First time mounting an awning, James Baroud Classic (not a wrap-around). I'm 6'3, Land Cruiser about the same, plus 4 inches or so for the rack. I always thought PS mount would make more sense if parked trailside, and for not banging my head--but most of the awnings I see are mounted on the DS...

    One-Man RTT Mount / Dismount?

So, at first I was thinking to rig up some INDUSTRIAL SHELVING uprights and make a frame out of those, with maybe a shelf or two across the top, and cross-pieces on the ground for stability. Put it on wheels. Or maybe do the same thing with PIPES... Then I thought, SCAFFOLD! Baker-type, with...

    One-Man RTT Mount / Dismount?

Interesting, thanks for the video! Not sure my garage wall would take that. Any concerns about the weight on the smaller footprint of the ramp edge on the roof, even if temporarily?
