Thank you! And Yeah I'm looking for something that can easily flop over to get into my storage. I was thinking maybe a 3 inch thick one would work. Man I wish I had a double cab! The extra space and roll down rear window looks so useful. I'll have to check out your build. As for the solar...

Hey guys its been a while since I've had an update! I finally have some progress to show off. So I've been doing some serious thinking about my life and I what I want to do with it. This past year I saw myself in a bad spot and I decided to do something about it. Basically for the past year I...

Thank you for the compliments! The bedsides are stock for now but I am buying fiberglass sometime this month. For the rear suspension I plan on running something simple like this to hold me over. Then after I relocate my spare tire I'll start saving my pennies for a cantilever kit.

Thank you! And as long as the weight is distributed evenly over a large surface area I see these panels having no problem upholding light-medium cargo. I would not risk anything too heavy. The only uses I have had for it so far are my surfboards which lay directly over the panels and rest on the...

HOW TO HOOK UP SOLAR POWER TO MY DUAL BATTERY SET UP

Solar panels typically operate at a higher voltage than what most batteries can handle and receive as a charge. For example my 100w solar panel operates at around 17 volts. To charge a typical 12v battery you need somewhere around 13-14 volts to charge safely. So wiring one straight into your...

Here in Southern California we only really need 4 wheel drive recreationally. But I'm starting to wonder if I really should just buy a 4x4 Tundra and switch around all the fun parts to the new one. I think it will be a fun project but for now I have had zero problems getting stuck (knock on...

The 4.0 V6 Tundras put out more horsies than the early V8's! The 5 speed is pretty cool as well, if you can find one.

    Auxiliary power

I have two 100 Watt solar panels which charges a 110 AH deep cycle marine battery that powers my 12v fridge and heating blanket. No problems so far.

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on this site for a little while and figured I'd make an account already. My name is Ryan and I'm currently attempting to build a 2000 Toyota Tundra into an all around adventure vehicle. Unfortunately I made the mistake of buying a 2wd rig instead of 4wd. When...
