    GM 4.8?

The 4.8 is just a smaller 5.3 really. Very reliable LS platform engine. I honestly don't think the 4L60E is a bad trans. Failures are often due to overheat and dirty fluid (like many transmissions) and people changing gears without coming to a full stop (back up and then going to drive while in...

    Camper Shell Cost

I paid around $1,800 for mine brand new. My 06 Sierra is Greystone Metallic with a 5'8" bed. That being said, I could not find one in the size and color for a real fit. My 05 Silverado was white with a 6' bed, and I paid about $700 for the same brand and style (Leer). The GMC one looks new, has...

Looking for Fridge Slide Mounting Ideas: Pickup Truck Bed

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you! I was familiar with the tracks and knew there had to be some type of stud I could install, but want able to piece them together while searching around the Internet.

Looking for Fridge Slide Mounting Ideas: Pickup Truck Bed

Hi all, I'be been on here for a few years now, popping in and out of different areas. Lately I've been working on a WJ Grand Cherokee, but my wife got a new car last weekend so I'm selling the Jeep and taking over our 06' GMC Sierra. I've seen some cool ideas on here for fridge mounting...

Why NOT use the stock spare tire location on a pickup truck?

I run a 35" spare under my 06 GMC Sierra and have never had it hang up or rub. I don't take extreme trails, but I've certainly been some places.

Harbor Freight Jack Stands Recalled for Risk of Collapsing

"Under load AND with a shift in weight." Doesn't seem too far-fetched to me on many jack stands.

    2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ

Last weekend I took the time to change the spark plugs. I don't know if the prior owners ever changed them, and I know I never did. The new Bosch ones certainly feel like the Jeep has more power from a stop, and road driving seems much smoother and has a better power band.

    Ammo Can Campfire

This is pretty cool. It certainly takes time to make, but is great for taking with you in case you run into rains and no wood is available, or for emergency uses.

    2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ

This last weekend we decided to go up to Sedona, Az. On the way up on a grade, I thought the Jeep was smoking a bit. After a moment, I knew it was, a LOT. There was a smoke screen behind me. I pulled over and saw it was from oil pouring all over the exhaust, which was apparent from the stream...

https://www.coleman.com/all-tents/6-person-tents/instant-tent-6/col_2000016071_pr/COL_2000016071 Fancy? No. Good price and works well? Yes. Easy to set up and take down? Yes. I own an older version and love it. I haven't found any reason to upgrade from it.

    Fridge cable detangle ideas

I have part of the power cord tied with with a zip tie. Long enough to let the slide fully extend, but fold back on place when the slide is in.

    2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ

I haven't posted in a while, but that doesn't mean nothing has been going on. Back in late January I ended up getting a roof rack. I really haven't needed it yet, but I want to make my own rack and do so without using the stock rails. Apparently they are not installed in the best way from what...

    Scan guage mounting

I've considered one for my Grand Cherokee. I was going to put in inside the gauge bezel using something like a 3M tape. The biggest obstacles I see with that it mounting to a flay surface, and where the wire would route. Some minor drilling may be required.
