Luggage for a sports bike tour

Well maybe I was indeed over thinking it. A small duffle on the back and a rucksack on the tank. Obviously these would require some straps and maybe some anti slip matting underneath. I do have some old rucksacks I wouldn't mind cutting up for the tank, so that could be an option. I'll update...

Pics of your Bikes and Rides

Here's my bike 2000 Aprilia RSV Mille R Certainly not overland, but great for exploring open winding roads, the track and petrol stations at the end of nice roads haha.

Luggage for a sports bike tour

Unfortunately nothing like that exists for mine, it won't even take a pillion! There will certainly be plenty of pictures. Thanks! Maybe I am over thinking this. I'll look at how to attach some bags that I already have and report back. Thanks for that link too!

Luggage for a sports bike tour

Hi All, I'm looking to ride to the Isle of Man TT next year from England This would be my first time going more than a day ride on a motorbike. Infact I don't believe I've ever done more than 150/200 miles in a day (and that was hard!). Total trip would be around ~250 miles each way (could be...

Zero budget just get out there adventure van

Chuck box worked a treat. Really basic but had everything we needed and performed better than I expected. But most importantly, about 2.5 years after owning the van I am finally able to stand on the roof! Something I've been after ever since I bought it.

I've been after a decent kitchen storage thing for a while, then whilst browsing for ideas stumbled on the below...... https://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/kitchen-kit-chuck-box.21268/ So now I know I wanted a chuck box, I had a few requirements it had to meet - -had to fit at the side of...

    Rate my First Aid kit

Having done a few different and varied but relatively low level first aid courses here in the UK for over a decade now - What I carry is exactly what I know how to use, confidently and reliably. This is the most important thing for me, if I learn a new skill I will get the correct gear for it...

Zero budget just get out there adventure van

The van was filled to bursting with camping gear and our bikes ready for a week in Wales (another country for me and my partner to tick off our list, also the first time we've done cycling not just walking whilst camping) The weather was fantastic, the huge empty beaches were stunning and the...

Zero budget just get out there adventure van

New roof rack time - Have been searching for one of these for around a year, but most sellers don't know what length the van they came off was or what rear door setup they had. I finally found one for a long and tailgate, it was a long drive, but the correct rack and bargain price more than...

Zero budget just get out there adventure van

Around this time of year is normally when I pull the van off the road to try to make it better than it was last year. Unfortunately ran out of time to clean under the cab floor and polish it, but I'll get those done soon enough. Van was Waxoiled and this year I pulled the front inner arches to...

Zero budget just get out there adventure van

Unfortunately due to weather like the above my mini cycling tour was cancelled. However, with the booking already made the van got an opportunity to come out to play again, and decided to take the bike with me. Pleased to report the michelin agilis cross climates doing their thing in a muddy...

Zero budget just get out there adventure van

Finally the stars aligned to allow me to take the van out in the snow for adventures sake rather than the commute etc. Performed very well in the worst snow we've had round here in the UK in quite a few years. Overall very impressed with it, took us out and got us back safely, perfect!

2021 Subaru Crosstrek MT - Traction Control - Maybe/Maybe Not.

Sounds similar to the traction control in my vehicle. You can turn it off with a button, but that only works up to around 20 mph, and then the system takes over again. Frustrating as you say when some vehicles seem to require momentum rather than crawling.

Zero budget just get out there adventure van

Happy New Year, all. New year's day saw us out and about in the van, found a lovely camping spot for later this year, had a nice walk in a familiar spot but on new routes followed by our first brew in the van of the year! And then saw a vehicle I would love to own one day. Completely dwarfed...

Zero budget just get out there adventure van

Just a few small tweaks, making the van better for its current purpose. My cans of stonechip arrived at last to spray behind the rear bumper to give an added layer of protection after treating the rust. Hopefully, this is the last time I have to remove the rear bumper for a while! And I got...

Zero budget just get out there adventure van

Towbar update - It is finally complete! All the wiring works as it should, and it is all hidden away. Last thing will be to adjust where to towbar sits, there is adjustment to move the tube you see at the rear up and in which I will try and see how it looks. I just want to ensure there is...

2005 Chevy Express Explorer Van Progress Thread

Nice van! I have those tyres on my van, no complaints so far in ~2 years. They have not struggled in wet grass/light snow that I have encountered. Quiet on my van too. Only done ~10kish on them but no considerable wear yet. My only problem is I would prefer ko2's or the new trail terrains for...
