Electrical System Design
We also entirely re-written our page about the Electrical System Design.
We tried to make it comprehensive for someone who is not very familiar with the topic.
Did we missed anything (without going into too much details)...
Electrical System Installation
We're a bit late on the post, but here is our electrical system installation!
We used it for a few summer week-long trips and it has served us very well so far :)
The winter test will happened next week, throughout the holidays, while we will spend a week in the...
Webasto / Espar High Altitudes
The Webasto / Espar Diesel air heaters are susceptible of accumulating diesel deposit (a.k.a. “coking”) at higher altitudes because the ratio of oxygen VS fuel is lowered (i.e. the mix is too “rich” in fuel). This coking would eventually accumulate and lead to...
Just a quick update on the Webasto.
As others mentioned before us, it is quite noisy! To reduce the noise, we performed a few modifications.
It did not drastically reduced the noise, but help a little. We say it's worth doing it.

Hey Anders,
We designed and installed our electrical system in our Ford Transit.
We have loads similar to you and we can charge from solar/driving/land line (shore).
We tried to capture and collect everything we learnt during the process here...
Fridge & Electrical System Cabinet
Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends on this forum! (a day late…)
We’re grateful for all the help we got from this community in making this crazy project a reality!
Posting detailed articles about our build is our way of giving back or inspire others...
Slide-Out Bike Rack
A campervan conversion for Mountain-Biking deserve proper mountain-bike rack!
We wanted the bikes to be stored inside the van & to be easily loaded/unloaded. The tray extend 48" and locks fully in or out position.

Cheers!
Platform Bed Installation
We wanted a permanent raised bed above the "garage" (over the mountain bikes and other equipment); no need to fold/unfold the bed at night & it creates a lot of storage room.
Here is the installation writeup:

Plusnut
We don't like drilling holes in our van, so we're using Plusnut blind fasteners in existing holes. We love them! They are super strong and quite easy to install.

Thinsulate Installation
And we are done with the Thinsulate installation!
This was probably one of the easiest part of the conversion so far. :)
Easy Breezy!

Just went through your website, I really enjoyed all the info there. I would LOVE to be able to work remotely like you guys are doing!
Keep up the good work!
Subscribed to your Instagram :)

Thanks for the tips, what you're saying make sense. We will test our setup and make adjustments as required!
The Webasto states that the exhaust must be pointing down and that the length of the exhaust cannot be extended (except if the diameter is increased to compensate for pressure lost)...
Just a quick update on the Fiamma Rain Guard.
We ordered 4 meters of the "L" model (9cm width) via Ebay. We received it in just a few days.
It took less than an hour to install. The seal really snap into the awning, feel very secure and has a "OEM" look.
We got heavy rain and it did what it's...
Webasto Air Heater Installation
The Webasto AirTop 2000 STC was quite a challenge for us to install.
It took us almost 20-30 hours to perform the job, while others reported having done it in about 4-6 hours. Oh well.
We're done with the install and are very satisfied with the result...
Floor Installation
The conversion is moving on! We took advantage (meh) of those nice summer days to install our floor...
Here is how we did it:

Awning Installation
We installed a Fiamma F45S awning, which is installed on the side of the van just above the door (i believe only the High-Roof has some room to do this).
It looks like a solid product and the color match the Magnetic Grey of the Transit :)
Here is the story...
We've been thinking about the project for a long time, but we were reluctant; what about the money? our things? our job? and so on. But since we really took the plunge, it's much easier to focus on solutions rather than focus on problems! We started saving more money too: it's motivating to cut...
We bought 2 DiscountVanTruck.com swivel seat plates with the intention on installing them on both driver & passenger side. To install on the driver side, you have to perform the handbrake mod as described here.
A few notes:
1- With the dual AGM batteries, the big bolt in the center of the...
