It's a real PITA, not that long ago a man with a screwdriver could fix most things, or at least have a clue!! We'll see what transpires on Thursday next week, we're locked in for using the Fuso this year, but maybe a project could be coming up for us based on something pre-electronic...
What happened on Wednesday!!
The first thing the Lecky did was to disconnect the Steinbauer module and we took the Truck out for a drive. We'd only gone about 1Km up a hill and the Eng red warning light came on in the Multi Function display, pulled over and turned the ignition off immediately...
Hi Andelles, the Steinbauer Module has made a huge difference. It is possible thatthe truck may have been surging before the Chip, but wasn't really noticable because it was quite gutless. Haven't noticed any vibration though. Cheers.
Would that mean that boost pressure and fuel delivery are linked, and by limiting the boost fuel delivery can also be limited?
In reality I got this module fitted because the dry weight is quite heavy and the motor somewhat lacking in my opinion, there are quite a few long hills around home in...
Hi Skifreak, I watched them fit the module and it looked as if the only way to make it switchable would be to put a switch into the power feed wire, I'd have to ask about if it would work, the loom for the module has replacement connections for each injector with the factory injector connections...
Hi Skifreak, the Steinbauer module is not wired through a switch, it is inline all the time. I have a suspiscion that the the ECU is reading the EGTemps and with the chip making more fuel available the temps may be getting outside the parameters the ECU is comfortable with causing the unit to...
Hi guys, we bought a Australian delivered 2012 high range Fuso Canter in Queensland a couple of months ago with an ATW P/C body converted to a camper, ATW wheels and suspension, weighs in about 5.3 Tonnes. The asthmatic 3 litre motor struggled on the hills around home here in Tassie, so I had a...
Thanks John, the Powerdowns are on the way, so we'll get this trip out of them and see what they are like when we return from the West, from past experience with Konis in different applications I reckon you'll be fine. :-)
Hi John, do you have Raids on the front and back???
After a chat with Dave at ATW he suggested installing heavy duty top shock mounts with a longer travel Powerdown adjustable T shock, for reasonable $, so I'm going to try that set up out for this trip and see how it goes. The truck had Monroe...
Thanks for that picture Fender, that is exactly what we have. After speaking with John at ATW this afternoon it sounds as though their extended breather kit for the diffs involves pulling up the centre of the rubbery/plastic grommet and cutting the end off. It is then possible to fit a barbed...
Hi Skifreak, I did have a good read of your description on how you had done yours, do you actually retain the rubber/plastic standard fitting and modify it in some way to accept the brass fittings and fuel line that you have on yours??? I am assuming that the centre of the standard diff...
Hi guys, I have rang and emailed ATW about this issue but unfortunately they haven't returned my call or emails about this as yet.
ATW have available to buy a breather extension kit for Diffs Trans Case G/box and fuel tanks.
First question that I'm waiting to hear back about is the Diff...
Hi all, I feel like a real prat asking this but I must have spent an hour crawling around on a gravel driveway underneath the truck looking for the Oil Filter, eventually got the cab up (it was stuck well and truly in its cradles either side) I looked all over the thing and found nothing...
Hi, in the 90's my Wife and I had to be in New York City for business in Feb, after the business was finished we decided to go to Las Vegas and then on to the Grand Canyon. When we returned to our hire car at one of the Canyon observation areas a family parked next to us. The guy who hopped...
No worries, we're in Birdsville a few days before the BRB and for the duration, heading for Alice Springs via Boulia on the 7, hopefully in a 2012 Fuso ATW! Going to Toowoomba on Wednesday to pick it up. You never know, might see you around> Cheers, Kanga.
