Plans are for a Ujoint 4x4 conversion, custom interior build out and a....pop top. Was able to get the suspension knocked out pretty quickly ( i had accumulated all the parts while looking for the van)
Started my second van build right when Covid hit. Took me 3 months of obsessive searching but I finally found my perfect candidate. 2001 V10 EB Passenger van with 88k miles within my budget. It was 4 hours away and I drove right down. It was a one owner literal Church van.
Most seats have to be in the "Sweet spot" to swivel anyways, I would be super annoyed if I had to toggle the seat forward and tilt, then back and reclined at a power seat speed. I have mine swiveled, and adjusted in seconds.
Selling my adventure van, she's in great shape and ready to go wherever you point her. It has a Ujoint Offroad 4wd conversion and drives great on and off road. Tracks straight at 80+ mph and doesn't feel "top heavy" thanks to quality components and proper suspension geometry. We have taken the...

Where else do you keep your bloody mary bar?
In regards to damage, I have personally seen Ford van rear doors distort from rear door ladders. They don't attach to the hinges, they attach to the sheetmetal which bends.
Love my side ladder for all its other functions too. Makes a great pantry when we are set up, great place to hook dog leashes, store bungee cords etc. Its right next to my barn door table, adds extra "counter space"
