Have you tried running the Flat Burner on propane? You might get better performance than isobutane.

To get some idea of what’s out there, look at marine sources, like West Marine, or Defender. They oftentimes have the smaller or slimmer tanks for various orientations. For fittings, I used Propane Warehouse. Never knew so many types of fittings were available!
