    New Tripolina Chair update

No orders being taken yet. We expect to begin taking orders before OE. If we do, we will fill all orders ASAP and bring the balance to OE. Not sure how many we will have. This whole project is highly speculative on our part, but we liked the chair and wanted to build an improved version. So our...

Roof top tent - DIY - Scratch build

Are you using truck tarp material (PVC) for the fabric? If so you need to consider mitigating condensation by adding more ventilation. If you build the tent so that the ceiling bows have a full length fabric pocket this will also mitigate some condensation and dripping inside the tent. I...

    ExPo 80 Series Registry

I've owned my 1996 80 Series about 6 (maybe 7) years. It has a lot of mods and additional equipment. Bought at 110,000 miles, currently at 165,000. I drive it when I feel like it, but it is not a DD. Among the various mods I made it I most value the 44 gallon Long Ranger aux tank, allowing 69...

    New Tripolina Chair update

We used a standard coil spring driven brass snap on the sample, but I believe that the flat spring snap - as you have in your photo - is the right thing, and this is the way we will go. The flat spring is less likely to malfunction. I have used brass snaps for years in boating and with my bird...

    1911 or Glock

Glock is a good gun, but I cannot get behind a plastic gun. I have a couple 1911s - a Gold Cup series 80 and an Officer's Model - the most compact 1911 made and packs well in a pancake holster. This is the Officer's Model 1911:

    New Tripolina Chair update

The bag is still water proof OD ballistic nylon, same closure and details, but with a better snap - and we added a sewn-on handle and adjustable shoulder carry strap. This is why we built some sample units for use and feed back -- wanted to get input from users before we built hundreds of...

    New Tripolina Chair update

We are getting closer. In response to many people indicating that they would prefer a heavy canvas duck seat, we have changed the first run to British tan No. 8 canvas duck. These are shown (in prototype) in the photo below. Note that the trim on the prototypes has olive trim - the production...

    The Great Camp Chair Debate

We are running the wood through the shaper and have parts on order. Not much longer to wait! We have made a switch to no. 8 canvas duck cover (British tan) in response to quite a few comments from people who prefer the canvas to ballistic nylon. The carry bags with still be ballistic nylon, but...

time to buy a minimal lift kit! choices and best prices?

I have the OME suspension with 2-1/2" lift. Very nice ride and I am not running excessive tires (265/85 R16). I had OME stuff on my FJ60 as well, and it was a huge difference in ride quality.
