    Free camper

This thing came with the property I just bought See link below It has a bunch of stuff in it that could be used for a trailer build or a camper. If you have more skills than I, you might could even get it back into usable condition. Anyway, I don't know If anyone here would be interested, but...

How do the Mombasa RTT's stack up?

So does that read the tent will be ok but you wont be getting any sleep? I do camp on the beach a lot and the wind tends to kick up at night.

How do the Mombasa RTT's stack up?

Were you sleeping in it at the time? Wind is the one thing I worry about with RTTs (I've never used one). They seem like such sails. I would be interested to hear about anyone that has waited out a good storm in one. Did it stay tight? flap? Do you tie the fly down over the door?

    Sleeping Bag Advise

IMHO... Mommy bags make no scene unless you have to personal carry it to camp. They are not about comfort they are about weight. Fancy fill fibers are likewise all about weight. In general, the more you pay for a bag the less wear it will take. I have a very nice light mummy bag that I use every...

    I am the man

I used the tools and methods used here. http://www.adventuretrailers.com/tireclinic.html with one exception. When getting the last bead off the first tire was kicking my butt. I was trying to pry it off with the irons and it was just getting tighter and tighter. At some point out of desperation...

    Tire Deflation...

Man I gota get with it. I feel like such a hick. I have used a house key and a gauge for years. At $30 maybe I should just get an ARB thing so I can be one of the cool kids.

    I am the man

I have no doubt that it can be done a myriad of other ways. I've never tried the hi lift method though I am aware of it. I would imagine it would be somewhat more laborious, cumbersome and perilous to the tire sidewall if simply because of the heft of the thing. Further, I have a personal...

4 days and 200 miles of Utah Trail

Thanks so much for posting your trip. I would love to follow in some of your track. Would it be possible for you to show us some kind of a map with your rout on it? One simple way to do this is to use Google maps to plot your rout and then hit the "link" link in the top right. That kind of saves...

    I am the man

I was surprised how little drama it was to get the beads set. My dinky little compressor had no problem at all because no air came out. I just used the bucket method to push the tire well onto the first bead area and then held the tire so the other one was touching as I turned on the air. 15 or...

    I am the man

I can't see not bringing a full spare but I can see throwing an extra tire on the roof as well for certain trips. How would you keep it clean though? Dirt inside would not be helpful.

Do you have an outlander trailer? If so how do you like it? I'm searching for a trailer and I am thinking about getting one. Jeep XJ mini spare tire.

I've thought about carrying a tube. If you lost a side wall real bad you could patch it with plastic/card board/sweatshirt whatever you got and use the tube to hold the air. Course you will need a way to get the tire over the rim as well.

The D35 you have in the rear is a problem on 35's. I would look to swap that out. There are lots of options to do so from bolt in to full custom. I just wouldn't feel good about a D35 too far from the border. If you do take it at least bring an extra shaft to two.

    Light Weight Construction
