    Pricing on a 1993 Dodge 250 diesel

Sorry, forgot to mention that. It is 4WD. We tested that too. Seemed to work ok in Hi and Lo. Shifter was a bit tough to shift. So $7K even with $3k in repairs is a fair asking price?

Learn me about the 6.9/7.3 idi motors

I actually prefer the older interiors - 87 to 91, but the 92 to 96 are nice too. Everyone seems to agree on the slow and low power part. Simple engine though and there is a great resource for the motors not far from me outside Seattle. Someone posted about it in this thread. Got my eye on...

Looked at the Dodge on Sunday. Just posted up asking about the sellers price vs the condition of the truck - https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/pricing-on-a-1993-dodge-250-diesel.198516/

    Pricing on a 1993 Dodge 250 diesel

Question for the Dodge folks or anyone who knows older diesels. Looking at a 1993 D250 with the Cummins. Extra-cab Long bed 219,000 miles Tires have 30k, maybe could get another year out of them. Body is fair to good condition, no major issues, just the usual wear and tear. Interior is fair...

What had to be done to make the steering tight? Any recommendations on what to do to make the brakes work better? Still gotta see if I can eve get the truck in for inspection first I guess. I have Tuesday and Wednesday and that's it. Then I'm out of town until the following week. Guess if...

Learn me about the 6.9/7.3 idi motors

Well, today I found a 93 Dodge 12valve locally. Owner selling due to buying an 07 Dodge with more room for family (wife's demand). 218k, extra-cab longbed, airbags front and rear, recent wheel bearings in front, front brake rotors, calipers, and pads, power windows still work, power door...

Learn me about the 6.9/7.3 idi motors

Here's the truck and the post info. It looks like the ad was updated, says it's an '88 model, not '87. Now I feel comfortable that it is definitely the 7.3L motor. 1988 Ford F250 4x4 ~ One Owner Truck! - Diesel - 7.3 Liter engine - 5 speed - Manual Transmission - 8 cylinders - NEVER been...

Learn me about the 6.9/7.3 idi motors

No hurry at all. The turbo is just a thing I'd put on the wish list. I'd focus on maintenance and other upgrades first and like you said, just enjoy traveling on some epic trips for a while. I've never seen a 250 w/solid axles up front in the 87-91 vintage. Can't find a RCLB 350 anymore...

Ha! I was just looking at pictures last night of your white truck with the Uhaul camper in the full-size Ford section. Two years ago, I could buy a really, really nice Cummins Dodge or older Powerstroke for ~$7.5k. Those same trucks now are asking $10k+ and they're older and have more miles...

Learn me about the 6.9/7.3 idi motors

Thanks vintageracer, good to hear from someone who's running one of these older diesels. I know it's never gonna be a 500hp, 1000ft. lbs of torque monster, and am thankful for that. It's funny that I'll see people on here drool over old Toyota's (which I love) with diesel or weak gassers and...

There is no way on earth you're getting a Powerstroke 4x4 for $3k or less in my neck o the woods. I see piles of dog $hit going for $7-10k all day long. Decent to very good condition and we're talking $10-20k for a 20+ year old truck. It's absurd. The truck I'm looking at is an 87 model...

I assume by efficiency you're referring to mpg's? Reports online aren't terrible - 15-24 depending on loaded or unloaded/ties/gears/etc. I cannot afford anything stamped Powerstroke or Cummins these days, I see absolute junk being sold for ludicrous prices now. Simple, slow, old...it's the...

Figured the turbo was key since I've seen quite a few with refits over the years. Sounds like cavitation isn't really that bad of an issue...if it was caught in time, otherwise it's a boat anchor. And yes, just watched season 8 of The Walking Dead so gotta think about outrunning those zombies...

Learn me about the 6.9/7.3 idi motors

I've narrowed my search for a camping vehicle option down to a full-size truck w/TC. No surprise but costs for anything labelled Cummins or Powerstroke have skyrocketed. That's fine, I like older trucks anyway, right? I had an '88 F150 2WD that I sold to buy my first 4WD, a 1985 Toyota RCLB...

    1994 Ford F-250 4x4 7.3L with Northern Lite Camper, Reno, NV, $34,000

Agreed, way too much. Love the setup, but I could source all of that individually and come out almost $15k better. But, it looks like someone bought it... Hope they got a deal.

Thanks! I'll reach out to them and see what they say. But custom from Spain sounds $$$$!
