How is your truck set up for an expedition??

The cool thing about a modular system like Sinuhe's Pelican cases or the ZARGES Boxes that Nonimouse mentioned: is that they also provide extra seating in camp.

How is your truck set up for an expedition??

Some folks that we traveled with had adjustable Load 'n' Lock rails kind of like these Which were pretty cool and made the load area highly versatile and very secure for their modular packing system. I don't know if there is anything like that available here though.

Love it so far! I hope one day to have the privilege of poking my head inside of it. I really enjoy seeing other peoples packing systems.

Broken clutch on my '66 Series 2a diesel?

My Series IIA was my daily driver for about 3 months and I had to baby it a lot, but it never left me stranded. My Ford station wagon on the other hand, never has any problems until it stops dead and I have to call for a tow. Great diagram Antichrist.

How is your truck set up for an expedition??

I like drawer systems. I love the nice commercially built ones, but since that wasn't in the budget, I cut apart a full suspension filing cabinet to use in ours. I cut down two of the drawers to about half their original height for tools and spares, and above that we have a drawer for the...

    Hope! The Kenya Build

Excellent! Thanks for the update. Yours isn't the first that I've heard the roof cracking problem on. I see you have the Howling Moon tent. Is there a trick to keeping the zipper on the cover from getting clogged with dirt? Someone told me cooking spray might work, but I'm afraid that might...

    The Dish Washing Thread

Absolutely! I forgot to mention that. Those are awesome (though mine is from Pampered Chef), you can get most cooked on food off with those things.

    The Dish Washing Thread

I have lots of tricks for reducing water consumption. First we carry tortillas, you can use them to wipe out pots, plates, bowls etc. and have a little more food. Second, use a paper towel to wipe stuff out before washing, start with the least yucky stuff first. Third, I sometimes do a...

    Graham Jackson's TDI 110 Defender

It only got that kind of milage before all of the stuff was put on it and we were driving it back from the West Coast on the highway. The milage isn't quite that good any more, I think its around 24 now. Graham can correct me if that's wrong when he gets back to internet access. :safari-rig:

    AT's new trailers

I could not believe how roomy the teardrop is, it will sleep two no problem. It is really a good trick to make it bigger on the inside than the outside. To whomever gets that teardrop prototype, sorry about the fingernail drag marks I left when they dragged me, kicking and screaming, out of...

    Overland Expo: Prescott, April 24-26

Just thought I'd put in a quick note about what the staff from the facility said about us after everyone else had left: They all kept exclaiming over and over, how clean the place was when we left, they just couldn't believe that all they had to do was empty the trash barrels. The food vendors...
