No real progress the past couple weeks...still waiting on OEM parts on backorder which I expect to arrive this week and also being Fathers day this past weekend, I spent it with family. The little time I had, I did some small little things along with cleaning up the license plate lens. After...

    Monteros on craigslist

No problem...when I get a chance I try, because I know how hard it was finding my Gen 2.5. That 98 Gen 2.5 from Tampa was sold yesterday...$700. I posted on the FB Monteros for sale group. Looks like someone drove 60 miles to see it..said it was in a little rough shape and mentioned "knock"...

This past weekend nothing major was done to the Montero as I am still waiting on a lot of Mitsu parts to move forward and plus I had a few things going on with family also. I did remove the center console though to clean 19 years of crud and other junk that has accumulated even though overall...

    Emergency advice needed, transfer case

I assume you own a Gen 2.5..if you do the shifter "ball" on those "red/orange" are prone to failure. 97 and below had the "white ball" shifters and are basically a oem replacement upgrade. The white ball shifters are superior and pretty much will outlast the vehicle itself.

    Emergency advice needed, transfer case

Oh man...I had 2 "white ball" tcase shifters for sale as of yesterday afternoon. 1 was sold almost immediately and the other one is pending sale. The guy hasn't paid me yet...but if you are interested let me know ASAP.

Good advice...I actually ordered a OEM thermostat 2 days ago along with the front pump seal, rear main seal, etc etc. That order should be ready next week...so I don't plan no real progress on the Montero this weekend, and my sis in law had to have emergency C section yesterday morning as my new...

Not sure yet....once I get the transmission back on, that's when I will do the front engine service. I don't think you would have to pull the pan to replace the front main seal. Didn't have to do that on my 4WD sport...unless the 6G72 and 6G74 are vastly different.

Yes sir...all front case seals will be replaced with OEM seals along with the rear seals. Didn't have to pull anything off the motor, just remove the rear prop shaft to the rear diff and allows you enough room to back the transmission to clear the rear of the motor.

Got a good amount accomplished this past weekend on the Montero. As part of the negotiation to get it at a much lower price..there was a ATF leak that developed during the purchasing process which actually delayed the purchase a good 2weeks. I was going to remove the transmission anyways to do...

    Gen3 Tire Size

Our Gen 3 is mainly a mall crawler...mainly to take the kids to school, going out on weekends, and family trips. Occasionally which isn't often I have taken it on some off trail trips which is nothing serious but does very well on moderate inclines/declines. Currently on Hankook Dynapro HT's...

    Mitsubishi gaining interested in us

This is great news...seeing Mitsubishi is reaching out to communities of owners of their vehicles really shows their effort to be in touch with their loyal consumers of their products. I wish I could go, but I don't think my Montero will be ready for a cross country trip.
