I quite like our SkyRise, and that’s a great price you got! I drilled out the rivers holding those straps on and added quality side release buckles, makes everything easier and the Velcro never holds when wet/dirty/etc.
I also ran two long straps over the top of the cover parallel to the ladder...
Another option for longer/softer rate springs are Jeep Cherokee rear springs. I’ve used them on several trailers with good results. They are the same dimensions as pre ‘04(?) Dakota springs, but have the full eye wrap.

My last chuckbox was made of 1/8” luan door skin and pine battens. I used cheap exterior grade poly thinned (1:3) with mineral spirits as per recommendation over on TnTT. The idea is the MS carries the poly into the wood fibre before it evaporates sealing deeper. I think I used 3-4 coats and...
I’ve found that a couple of little squares of grip tape on the “feet” of the stove help it from sliding around so much. Might scratch up your table though...
Great build, thanks for sharing! I have almost the same truck, and have added most of the same upgrades (Decked, wildpeaks, etc). Just wondered if you corrected the speedo when going to the larger tires? I’ve been researching different options but haven’t settled on one yet.
