Google "shackle mount license plate". There are a variety of ready made plate holders that bolt on to the bumper D rings. Would also be really easy to fabricate your own as well.

I think black bumpers looks pretty decent on these trucks.

Yea; that was one of the only downsides I came up with as well. I do like the form factor though, and they are inexpensive. On the plus side, divots would help to keep the drawer in place... ;)
