Ron Suburgundy will be sold. We are moving on up in the world and have spent a small pile of money to get a 2013 4Runner.
I will miss the extra space in the 'burb, but am excited to have something built this decade.
My uncle, who is also a HAM radio licensee, got a new Mobil radio for his Jeep. So he sent me this one. I was just thinking about getting one for the suburban (up until now I had only had a handheld radio)
So I will be installing this once I buy or make a 2 Meter antenna.
Replaced the blower fan. We here driving home from the store and heard a "pfffft clunk" and the fan stopped working. My son replaced the blower fan while I was at work (he is 17). It blows way harder than it ever did. The old one sounds like the bearings failed.
Ok, we sold the pop up. The center seal was leaking and it rotted the entire back half of the roof. I didn't want to fix it so I just sold it outright. We are now assessing how we want to camp. I am going to sleep on the one cot that we do own to see if my back will tolerate sleeping like...
In town, short trips, stop and go. Get 8-10. On the highway unloaded I get 16-18. Towing the trailer an fully loaded with family and gear it gets 8-10. It does everything excellently, other than fuel econimy.. To replace it though with something that gets significantly better mpg would cost...
Well, two years after getting the 'burb I finally got around to painting the wheel arches. After years of sun exposure they faded from black to dull grey. I had painted the arches on my Jeep using Krylon Fusion so I just grabbed a rattle can at wal-mart.
