Mines a 96 dual cab, no need to remove radiator, plenty of room once you take off fan etc .. only have to get underneath to dump the radiator, otherwise all done leaning in from the passenger side.
Good luck

Bugger, as sean said, it's an easy job but i bet his freckle still hurts after paying daimler prices!! , I did mine 2 yrs ago before a trip, only noticed it leaking by chance, but who wants to get dirty on holidays if you don't have too:)
Sorry no idea on tassie shops, these little hiccups make...
Not knocking your diagnosis, but i have had very similar symptoms im the past where after driving for a while, a severe decrease in power occurs and seems like the pumps dying. Turned out to be a vacuum problem, of the pump trying to pull the fuel thru from the tank, but the breathers in the...
Very nicely placed, now 10% tuffer:)
Interested to hear your thoughts (and some pics of your install) once you add some fuel and crank the boost, enjoy the transformation.
Dave
Agreed second pic is it. No boost compensation, its old school all the way. I think it was 10mm spanner, undo the end nut and make sure the washer/ seal doesnt get lost, then crack the inner nut just a little to allow you to turn the fuel screw with I think was 3mm allen key, retighten the lock...
I uaed the original manifold and clamped it to 12mm plate, scribed the mounting holes and measured scribed etc the outlets with help of exhaust gasket, they are individual gaskets per cylinder so not as easy as a complete gasket to do a template, then chain drilled it out and cleaned it up with...
Thanks Amesz, it is intercooled so safe on that score, I'll be keeping a keen eye on egts and see if i get more power hungry after the coming trip. But at this stage I'm a happy camper, though i might order a boost controller and have a play when i get back:), and keep dreaming of a set of Dans...
Yup, thanks to advice from here and the www had a go and seems to be working nicely;) will do a write up here https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/4d34-turbo-advice-needed.189896/ when we get back and have proper internet working again...
Dave
Played with tuning a little bit now, has original 2 1/4 exhaust which is now straight thru with muffler deleted and its not too loud, has a nice whistle at the outlet;) 1.5 turns on the pump, gets 12.5lb boost and max egts of 550c pre turbo and pulls well to near redline and not smoky.
So i...
I must be blind, I'm looking for the fuel screw on the 4d34 non electronic pump so i can start having a crack at getting more grunt out of the turbo, can someone point me in the right direction? and when found, does it turn clockwise or anticlockwise to advance or decrease the fuel?
Thanks in...
The turbo is nearly finished, just gotta reconnect the exhaust and good to go. Have only driven it 500m as yet with about a foot of exhaust hanging out the back till the exhaust is done, but grinning from ear to ear so far.
Dave
Been a while since i updated this, have built a rear wheel carrier and turboed it in preparation for a trip to lightning ridge in 2 weeks.
The rear wheel carrier is originally off a 80's MQ patrol and with a little cutting, stretching and modification now fits nicely on the truck, will be nice...
A good link below I've used for my turbo install, just modified to suit my engine, I'm going with the plug in the sump for ease of installation.
Not sure that there's enough fall to use the vac pump drain?
