The hbb is designed to run only when needed to pressurize the accumulator which actuates the brakes. It should come on once out of two or three braking applications..
I just removed the whole master cylinder unit again and reinstalled the hbb. The thing wont run. I can hear the solenoid...
I'll go look at them again..i just cant understand why the hbb ran when i first installed it and now i can hear the solenoid click but the hbb doesnt run.
Ive tried the blink test but unfortunately the abs dash light must be out..i can't get it to turn on even at pre start up with the key in the on position..only see the flashing neutral.
So yesterday i pulled the right rear caliper and the pads were installed incorrectly...there were also two marble sized rocks trapped behind the rotor shield ...i put it back together properly but nothing has changed...the pump is not coming on...just clicks every 30 seconds or so and no...
I understand the whole bleeding process...there is no pressure getting to the rear calipers..im not drawing air back in because nothing is going out...no pressure at the calipers...and no boost to the front system...hard pedal...bled front...pedal falls..just as you would expect...nothing, fluid...
There was a little weeping out of the calipers but we are talking a few drops...even if the lines were full of air the fluid in the calipers would have been pushed out i think..but something is preventing that...what is the question. The pedal never moves more than an inch and thats with a few...
I opened the bleeders up and went and pumped them for a minute and went back to look...thats when i noticed the pad installed incorrectly. No fluid had come out.
Ok..just got home from work and crawled under to loosen the bleeder nipples..still cant pump fluid to them but they are weeping out a bit of fluid...BUT i noticed the rear right pads are not installed correctly... misaligned and cockeyed across the caliper..so ill be pulling that side tomorrow...
I dont know why or how the rear system would be void of fluid...i replaced the hbb and it ran to pressurize the system..yet i cant feel any assist to the brakes which are only actuating up front..no air or fluid or any pressure escaped from the bleed nipple on the rear calipers..something is...
I cant understand why no fluid came out when i tried bleeding the rear. Unfortunately it is snowing here today and i cant try to work on the truck. Hopefully tomorrow or Thursday...thanks for the info and suggestions.
I have not checked the calipers yet. I guess i should pull the brake line off and see if fluid is getting back to them. Ive read somewhere that you are supposed to bleed the caliper as you clamp it open as opposed to forcing fluid back up the line. Is there a valve between the front and back...
Yep..had my wife push the pedal while i opened it all the way and nothing..she wasnt pumping with force but its my understanding the hbb pushes the rear system with the pedal depressed. Should i get in and put physical ft pounds on the pedal?
I removed the whole master cylinder unit to replace the hbb but refilled it before turning motor on. Im just not getting any fluid to the back. I havent been able to pull codes due to no one having a mut2 reader up here where i live...its an hour down to Denver and with no brakes on steep roads...
I installed a new hbb this past weekend thinking that was the likely problem but it didnt help. When i installed it Saturday i could hear it come on and run. Now i can here it click but isnt coming on. No assist to the front brakes and no pressure to the rear at all. I hope the new hbb hasnt...
I just came back on here to delete my last post as i realized i passed my frustration on down the line...and read this.
I appreciate your response in the face of dumbassidry and will give it a try!
