2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

Works great so far, no complaints. I haven't really used it much but the clearance makes a huge difference.

    Full Size Truck Toppers/Camper Shells

I am running a setup pretty close to what you are envisioning (SnugTop Rebel with Sportsman Package, tent and awning). I went with cross bars to save weight vs a full roof rack. Works well so far. If I had to do everything again, I’d consider the upcoming bed replacement system by RSI, pretty...

    Let’s see some POWER WAGONS!

Yeah the Dethloff skid plate is pretty much mandatory. It still boggles my mind how RAM thought it would be a good idea to leave a plastic transmission oil pan unprotected on the bottom of their offroad truck. That's just a disaster waiting to happen.

2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

One small mod that I did last weekend was to extend the front diff breather into the engine bay. I used the ARB diff breather kit but didn’t use their tubing and fittings but bought barb fitting adapters that thread into the filter end and used some oil resistant tubing. I found a suitable...

Coyote Flats weekend was a blast and the suspension worked really well although I feel like it will be even better with the King shocks.

2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

Just a little mod I did over the weekend was to install a third cross bar under the roof top tent. The Rhino Rack Vortex bars I’ve been using are rated for 220lbs per pair. The tent weighs 160lbs, so why install a third bar? Two reasons: First, Rhino Rack says their rating is for in-road use...

2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

Stars aligned and my Thuren kit was delivered earlier. It’s really quite a difference in handling. Less bump steer, much more firm ride on the highway. I haven’t taken it offroad yet (just a fire road), but it seems to swallow potholes quite well. All the King parts (2.5 shocks and...

2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

We'll see. I talked to Chris at Thuren about it and he recommended trying out how the ride is fully loaded without the bags and add them later if desired. I had some sway on the freeway which wasn't great, I think better shocks will take care of that on their own. Weirdly I don't have a problem...

2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

A few things are coming together in preparation for our summer trips. The first thing is a new front bumper. We have slightly scraped the plastic OEM bumper on several occasions and it was just a matter of time before it would get hung up on something and be destroyed and/or require work on the...

    Dual Battery System Grounding Question

Probably a good idea to measure the resistance from your frame ground point to the negative terminal of the starter battery. Should be essentially zero, everything else will cause major headaches and/or be dangerous.

2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

I actually went ahead and ordered some cheaper shocks to bridge the time until the Kings arrive. That means the Thuren kit can go on in early June hopefully. We have a pretty epic trip through Arizona, Utah and Colorado coming up and I feel better about driving around loaded with the rear track...

2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

The front and the rear axle weights were actually almost the same. I'll see how it drives with the Thuren kit on (after waiting 8-10 months for the shocks though :) ) and then maybe think about airbags. It's definitely not horrible right now. Most of the time it's not loaded that much.

CAT Scales said I'm 500 lbs over GVWR fully loaded. That would be 2000 lbs of payload (door sticker says 1500 lbs).

2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

We went to the Death Valley area a couple of weekends ago. The truck worked great, with the exception of some sway on the highway, which was no fun. I guess that’s what you get when you put that much weight in an off-road truck with soft suspension. Hopefully the 2.5 Thuren kit I ordered will...

The Unnamed - 2019 Ram Power Wagon Build

Same here (SnugTop Rebel cap and slightly heavier roof top tent though). I'm about to pull the trigger on a Thuren setup and am split between 0.5" coils up front / OEM springs back or 1.5" up front and a 1" spacer. I'm wondering how the ride is affected by the spacer....

2020 Power Wagon JUXI Build and Trip Thread

So after months of consideration we decided to spend the money for a roof top tent. The main reason is to save time setting up tents during the trip and to save time after the trip cleaning tons of debris off the bottom of the tent. We wanted something with lots of space to fit my wife, me and...
