Great picture. Like seeing a rare lumbering forest creature and realizing that it's not a myth! (lol)
Don't worry about playing hard enough for anyone but yourself.

To answer the OP - I have an '08 (purchased with 12k miles in 09/10) that is still stock basically, probably 90% pavement-driven as it is my commuter and only vehicle. No Rubicon/Black Bear Pass to overcome in flat South Texas, but it has...
Wow. Nice 'built' packages like that don't come up too often, and when they do someone often wants more than they should. Nice purchase, hope you got a fair deal.
Generally speaking I believe there is a division between suspension fitments for early FJCs and the 2010-On model years due to the changeover from the 120 to the 150 platforms.

That's Southern Style Speed's 'Slimline Hybrid Bumper' - http://southernstylespeed.com/2014-4runner-slimline-hybrid-front-bumper.html
Looks like it can be optioned with/without the hoop and/or several different lightbars.
Keep this up and you're gonna have to change your member name to BD'sFJ (BajaDesign), lol.
The output and spread from those 'backup' lights is awesome!
Maybe so, but if you'd read the article the graphic was done by 'Spork Marketing'.
Inevitably when an article on Jalopnik (or subsite TruckYeah in this case) gets something wrong the knowledgeable commentators come out of the woodwork with the correct details (just like here) and the author...
I wonder what your engine RPM difference is at highway speed...
Tire Rack says 635 revolutions per mile for your 285/70-17 Duratracs, versus 683 revolutions per mile for Dunlop Grandtreks in 245/75-16.
I agree that you'll feel a difference in power and acceleration due to the lighter weight...
Not the cheapest/simplest method, but I remember seeing that Conqueror/UEV had a heavily-filtered intake w/electric fan on the sides of some of their trailers in order to provide positive pressure inside and help prevent dust ingress. Just another idea.
I have the Aqua-Tainers. They are cheap and reasonably tough. Just be sure to secure them upright. That way if the vent plug gets dislodged you don't lose your water.
But I will admit I'd like to have the 60L (15.9gal) Water Tank from FrontRunner for long weekends or outings with a big group...
Nice traction, though!
Whether those are the Falken WildPeak or the Rocky Mountain version from Discount Tire, those are hard to beat for an every day tire for the money.
Well, you just named the two tires I thought of first, lol. What tire size on what vehicle are you talking about?
The size you're looking for will probably be a factor as well.
I know Falken's Wilpeak AT has 3-ply sidewalls only in the larger sizes -...
Not exactly. 92 octane is required to get the full advertised HP/TQ ratings, and recommended for towing/severe duty situations. Same misconception was all over the early couple years of the FJ Cruiser with the same 4.0L 1GR-FE V6 in the 4Runner. I run mostly 89 octane in my FJC and get +/- 18mpg...
