Yes fused Anderson
And yes defender box.mine is a puma (ford) so the alternator is pretty strong at 165amps. It always pumps more than 14v.
If battery if full then 14.7
It may be easier to fit another battery down there under the seat. But I like the fancy looking of a yeti.....
The now the...
Some people will tell you old cars are reliable and you will soon find out they will happily replace everything on that car even welding up the chassis
The way I see it is the people makes car reliable no matter how old the car is, rather then a brand

It's just a machine
With enough money and time, you can make anything reliable, even a jeep
There will be people telling you their car is reliable and all it needs is "maintenance". He will then tell you that "maintenance" is to replace the motor and gearbox and that is "expected"...
Toyota for overland long distance touring....
That said.....I drive a defender....she makes me happy and I don't mind the repairing/maintenance.....

The alternator is so much more powerful than any possible solar panels on a car....
So you won't need the solar input when the car is running.
For me, I will always prefer portable solar panels Because of this reason

Just to contribute to the database here
So I think the yeti has dc-dc charger on-board and also it is sensitive to voltage, meaning it will not draw power of the car is not running. I am not sure what the threshold voltages are
I use the 50amps Anderson plug to adapt it.the Charing power is...
I installed a amps meter. It's actually a multimeter by blue sea
It sometimes reads 150amps on bulking charging and if you use the winch, the winch will draw from both batteries (because the car is running the relay will connect them both), and the current can be up to 400 amps

It's a good idea. I never thought of a back up battery.....But it's actually a good idea
But your setup suggest you will need a cranking plus deep cycle battery as the main battery. And also a cranking (high CCA) battery as a backup.
I think it will work out good for you and the way to charge...
Yes I have the same issue with in car charging as well.
I am thinking of charging the yeti via the chain port( Anderson plugs) by a voltage sensing relay or simply ignition-on relay.....

I have a cfx 65 Lt and goal zero yeti 400 with a watt meter. On cycle its 55watts
The Fridge ran for 16hours before the 35Ah battery goes to 50%
Ambient temp is around 25
See photos attached

Thanks
Yes the 6mm are all sold out in Australian GZ webstore....I just placed an order to have then shipped from US
I have a few question.....
So is there any way I can improved the charging for the yeti 400? Or its already pretty good? Is the onboard charger a dc-dc charger? Charging at...
If you don't need the topo info or even find them confusing, then we are not talking about the same thing here......
You can use whatever, or just read the street sighs, right?

Garmin oregon is touch screen. So does Garmin Montana
Try the Garmin topo map. It is very good in my area. All the relics sites, hiking trails, biking trails, fire trails everything's are there.
Often I find it much better than some off-road navigators like hema etc..
Sent from my LG-H870DS...
You can upload Garmin topo on the street GPS. But the details will be different
Better to buy a Garmin hiking gps for automotive use
Like oregon 750
I don't think the sharp angle lines are a problem
In fact it won't affects you navigation ability. The gps doesn't have to be very accurate to...
The redarc BCDC is only 40A
It's only a baby.
Your alternator can probably output 150 Amps....
I will use a simple relay style system than these amature BCDCs
Unless you get a commercial BCDC rated at 100amps and that would be fast charging

I have been using woxun for three years and they are still fine.
I had a yaesu 6R and I can tell the performance difference between these two
So I sold yaesu and bought another woxun
