I've really enjoyed reading this thread..... and I've learned a lot too!
Your part of the reason I bought a Wagoneer for myself!...... I'm even eyeballin' pop up trailers too!
Good Luck in the future........ whatever direction you take!
Some interior photos.....
The seats and carpet seem to be in good shape for being 40 years old..... the dash pad is not cracked either!
Rear seat comes out with no tools..... I'm 6 foot and I can easily sleep in the back.....
Not going to build drawers or a sleeping platform....... but figure a...
Thanks BBS!
Thanks GC! I'll get some more photos today.
Thanks Lumpskie! Verified that it's a 3" Rough Country kit....... and it rides ROUGH!....... need to swap them for some BJ's springs, Ranchos, or maybe Skyjackers.
Dice says "Hi!"
Howdy All!
Been wanting an early Wagoneer for a while..... finally got serious about finding one about a month ago.
I wanted a driver..... something I could drive while I fixed stuff..... I already have a '77 J-10 Shortbed for a major project.
Found this feller about 200 miles from home...

Hey Jeff-
When split each burner requires a hose and fuel source..... you could rig up a Y-type hose I guess to use both at the same time.
I turn the stove sideways so the hose connection and adjustment knob is on the side.
I only use one burner..... gave the other burner to a friend...
I bought a set of Mastercraft Baja RS Lowback seats about 12 years ago for my '72 F250, and now they're in my '79 Bronco..... still going strong.
Comfortable for long drives, and sturdy. Good support off road, without being difficult to climb into...
Bryan, I've been using Dave Ellis' Range Tents for several years now..... very high quality.
I have an 8 X 8 now, since it's just me and a dog..... plenty of room for us and a ton of gear also. Room to stand in the center.
I prefer the Range Tent for myself for the ease of setup..... pound in 4...
I use some very similar looking totes that I got at Lowes for about the same price (probably made by the same company).
Very sturdy and weatherproof enough to ride in the truck bed.
The best part is the $13 price tag!
I've used a Coleman Powerpack Stove with good results........ stable and fairly well built......

I've been using a two-stage 6 ton bottle jack for my last two trucks........'79 Bronco and '72 F250........ straight axles front and rear.
The two stage jacks go down to a low height, and will raise to a probably unsafe height!
I have one similar to this...
I worked for Rancho Suspension in Long Beach CA from 1990-96. Tenneco bought Rancho in 1990, and began the development work to produce Rancho shocks at Monroe, another Tenneco company. Rancho’s were originally made by Maremont (Gabriel), and the two shock companies had completely different...
