Somehow missed the comment about the Roofnest Falcon - disregard the message I sent on IG, then. ?

I feel like some inspiration could be drawn from ground tents here. Perhaps a tension pole that bows out to keep things tight? Might have me opting for the vents if a diesel heater that stows in the gear vault is something that's on the table. That sounds fantastic.

Tall edition is for midsize trucks with sharkfin antennas on the roof of the cab (or trucks with roof racks) - it allows for a bit more clearance between the cab and the bottom of the platform over the cab.

Good to see you've made it over here. (y) Saw the IG video on the extrusion redesign, less deflection and less weight are good things in my book. Curious to see how the tent and tent support structure gets revised. I know there were concerns with snow/water shedding, and you had mentioned the...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

That sounds downright comfy with outside temps in the teens.

Exactly. Hiccups are expected, it's all how they're handled.

I will say, I reached out to Kyle with a couple questions last night after-hours, and he got back to me within 2 hours of the initial email with answers. The communication has been pretty top-notch so far.

A tiny bit. I did check into the chargeback options with my card company just to see, and that limitation is 60 days from the statement date. Hopefully I won't feel the need to exercise a dispute. But I'm also stuck in a hard place. Everything else is $10k+ in the wedge camper space, and also...

Yeah, I had the Maxxair in my Pursue - in a small space those fans can move a lot of air.

I never got an early access email, just the normal announcement for 8A PST. Also, wait, order 001 is technically 1001? I feel better now.

The rain fly/support/tent angle is all getting changed/lowered/revised. I thought about the fan, but nixed it - can always add it later if I deem it critical. Kyle did mention adding condensation vents to the tent, which would be my primary concern. Tent seems to have plenty of ventilation via...

Screw it, placed an order. Fingers crossed. Added the vault with table, solar wiring port, 2 handles, and 12V+lighting. Spot #1055.

And here I was thinking it launched at 8a Pacific. Guess I'm not getting anything.

GFC went bolted because you can produce more by not welding. Hard to find qualified TIG welders these days, let alone delivery drivers. Yeah, at $10k for a GFC, I'm definitely out. I was considering a Snap Outfitters Treehouse but they jumped from $8k or so to $11k+ - and now lead times are...

Quick reply on the GFC availability topic - even if you get a production slot, getting it delivered to the east coast using the GFC White Glove service is a 6 month timeframe, which pushes me to April at best. And the price for that has jumped to $1750 for the east coast. So, I guess I'm back...

Never said it was hard, just not something I want to do. Swing out racks are heavy, and become more of a permanent fixture to the truck. I prefer to take mine on and off as needed. The GFC availability change might have me switching teams here, though. I need something quicker than May/June.

Alucab is on another level in both size, weight, complexity, and cost. Absolutely love them, but really not what I'm looking for, especially since I'm trying to keep things light and low profile, and I'm not looking to have a barn door with a swing-out bike rack on the back. Keeping my tailgate...

Or, you know... give them a chance? He's got an actual prototype, shown footage of material inventory, and the demand is clearly there based on every other wedge camper manufacturer fighting months long backlogs of orders. No need to be such a downer.

Glad your impression was favorable, definitely jealous that you were able to see it in person. From the videos I've seen, I'm really liking the small integrated touches, especially the interior lighting and exterior grab handles. What adjustments did they say are planned for production?
