Any reason to use solar panel connections?

You can also buy just the MC-4 connectors to put on your cable going to the batteries. I think it cost me about $20 for 6 of them for my 3 panels. Any reason to use them? I know of one but I hope it will never be an issue for you! I had a 2 bolts come loose on one side of one panel, the wind got...

    10 mpg help

And I'm complaining about 15 mpg with my Isuzu!! I can get 15 if there is no head wind and I'm not in the mountains, but only if I don't go over 55 mph. Going up to 65 drops it down to about 13 - so I just drive slower. I'm retired and in no hurry so it isn't a big problem for me. Can't argue...

Isuzu NPR HD Truck Camper Build

Well I have been visiting my son and some friends in the Denver/Colorado Springs area for a couple of weeks, wishing I was back in warm Arizona. I drove through the Superstition Wilderness on the Apache Trail and spent about a week near Canyon Lake. Great scenery and hiking, really enjoyed it...

    Isuzu Elf 150 4x4 Camper/RV

Looks really nice! I'm happy with my NPR with a truck camper on it for the most part, but the pass through into the cab would be really great. It looks like a really clean and functional camper. Have you made a decision on it yet? I just realized what NA stands for. I don't know what mine weighs...

    Camp Shower Showdown

After my solar shower started leaking I've settled on a gallon plastic jug with a handle (like a milk jug). Leave it in the sun for the day (or better yet on the dash of my camper facing west). Wash hair, rinse, wash body, rinse, wash feet, rinse - done!

Isuzu NPR HD Truck Camper Build

I just spent a week hiking and biking on the Black Canyon National Recreation Trail, north of Phoenix, AZ. It is open to hikers, mtn. bikers and horses. Some of the trail on the south end (starting at State Rt. 74) is just old jeep trails, but north of what is called the Boy Scout Loop to the...

A call to NPR owners. Your MPG, L/100km?

Thanks. I looked on Truckpaper but found mine on Craigslist. It had a delivery box with power lift gate on it but I sold that for about the same price as it cost to have the flatbed made.

    FG's in Action

Lehel, Wow, that middle pic above looks a bit scary! Had you scouted out the road ahead of time or did you just go for it? I'm always afraid of getting to an impassable spot and having to back out somehow! Vic

    Contemplating building my own camper

Just saw this and thought I would comment. I had considered building a camper from scratch and after drawing lots of plans decided to go with a 1990 Shadow Cruiser truck camper instead. I wanted to put in new insulation and add storage compartment and a motorcycle garage as I was putting it on...

    Camp Shower Showdown

Not quite true! I have a Coleman one, got it at Walmart for about $8 I think. Have only used it 10 times at the most and the tube has developed a leak where it goes into the bag. Not sure if I could take it back and get a new one but I doubt if I can find the receipt anyway! Vic

A call to NPR owners. Your MPG, L/100km?

I have a 2001 with a 5 sp. manual. If I drive 55 on the freeway I can usually get 15 mpg. Going 65 drops it down to below 12. Headwinds are killers also, especially with the normal delivery box like many of them have. My camper is a little bit better with the aero cap but not much. Around the...

    Mitsu Fuso Camper examples

Unfortunately I didn't get a photo but I recently saw an FG in Quartzsite AZ with a little wooden cabin on the back, complete with shingles on the roof if I remember right. Anyone else seen it or know who it belongs to? Vic

To the Arctic Ocean via the Dalton Road

Hi Janet and Tom, you are getting near me. I am at Slab City, just east of Niland on California highway 111, by the Salton Sea. Lots of snowbirds here, including a group from Canada. Not much of an overlander spot, but there is a popular hot springs and the world famous "Salvation Mountain". It...
