YALBBB Yet Another LiFePO4 Battery Box Build

Thanks. Your build thread was one I referred to heavily. For reference I spent somewhere in the region of $230 not including things like the Powerpole crimp tool that I decided I should invest in, nor leftover parts where I had to buy crimps by the bag etc. Maybe I could have made it for $210...

YALBBB Yet Another LiFePO4 Battery Box Build

I received the AiLi coulomb counter today. This video has a great explanation of how to mount it and how to program it. I learned from that that it needs a 2 1/8" hole saw, and then discovered that by some amazing coincidence that happens to be the standard bore for a house door lock, so the...

YALBBB Yet Another LiFePO4 Battery Box Build

I got a lot of help from people on this forum, so sharing back in case it helps anyone else. Before we get started - if cost is your primary concern, I don't believe it's possible to do it cheaper than Bluetti or Jackery or the others. I went back and forth a few times but I decided I wanted to...

    Iceco JP40 or VL45?

It was only this morning that I realized quite how much heavier the VL45 is. That pushes me to the JP40. Thanks for the code. There are a few 12% codes around. Shame I missed the bigger discounts that have been available recently.

    Iceco JP40 or VL45?

Yeah I agree, and Axles I did watch your video already. Both the models I'm talking about are Iceco. Their website doesn't really help with the differences. I am guessing it's just two different form factors to widen the appeal.

    Iceco JP40 or VL45?

Hi. I am struggling to choose between the JP and VL series. Other than esthetics, form factor, dimensions which are personal choices, are there differences that are less obvious that need to be considered? I prefer the form factor of the VL but prefer the size of the JP. So I'm looking for other...

    DIY Lifepo4 dc2dc charger?

That's exactly what I was looking for - a power module with a constant current output. Thanks. (I have various car chargers that can boost, but was looking for a thing to do the buck.) Would you happen to have done any efficiency measurements? Assuming not, the simpler version: does it get very...

Help a confused guy put a power bank together (on a shoestring budget)?

In your post you specifically mention the Renogy Wanderer, and I don't believe it's possible to achieve what you're proposing with that controller. Happy to be corrected if I missed something.

Help a confused guy put a power bank together (on a shoestring budget)?

Unfortunately that does not work. The battery will try to sink all the watts it can get, the charger will trigger its overcurrent protection and switch off. If your solar controller can limit the charge current you‘re ok, but then your solar charging is limited to the same current unless you...

12V plugs and sockets that are not cigarette lighter style

Thanks Herbie, but I was looking for single pair, not double. This is my Plan B though, I think.

12V plugs and sockets that are not cigarette lighter style

Am building a DIY power pack. I'm finding it hard enough to find any panel mount, single pair Powerpole connectors that don't look homemade 3D printed. Any recommendations? Even better, weatherproof ones? Thank you.

Recommendations for rechargeable LED lantern for table?

Since you reminded me - I bought one of the Sofirn lights and I love it. I am a little concerned about the reliability of the cell connections with the rotating action. Already I have seen that the cells were not balanced when I took it apart once, but after balancing them manually and closing...

Recommendations for rechargeable LED lantern for table?

To add, I got to see a Goal Zero today and when medium to bright it's nice, but when dimmed I would want warmer. I'm getting one of the BLF LT1's. You can set them up to change color temperature automatically as you change brightness, which sounds perfect.

Recommendations for rechargeable LED lantern for table?

While I appreciate the suggestions may I gently steer this thread back to warm white is an absolute must? If the advertising blurb or personal reviews do not give me a clue as to the color temperature or at least the words "warm white" then I don't want to risk it. I already have several LED...

Recommendations for rechargeable LED lantern for table?

Interesting... I found another site with a marketing photo reporting 6500K cool white, 4200K natural white, 3000K warm white. I didn't have a particular budget in mind, but this one is a bit expensive to buy sight unseen. At half the price I might take a punt on the Goal Zero.

Recommendations for rechargeable LED lantern for table?

    (y) I don't know how I missed Goal Zero. They say their lanterns are 3500k, a little less warm than I would like, but at least they list the spec.
