My trusty companion has passed away this month.
We had him for the last 10 years; we first met him as a stray dog and turned him into family.
Went to sleep and didn’t wake up.
Aftermarket suspension makes a world of difference in living quality on/off road with the older hilux (solid front, pre 98 models), and the 98+ (independent front) are much more highway friendly.
700k+ km on the odometer without opening or replacing the diesel engine is very common for hilux.
500K is considerd "normal" for 97' models and common for 98+.
the way i see it, lockers are part of your "insurance" when going off-road, especially if you do travel solo sometimes.
lockers are not only for rock crawling, but also for that short steep loose assent or drifted trail.
the former hilux with the2L/2LT had a payload of 1900 pounds, they were sold with solid front axle until 1997, and then changed to ifs.
whay is the payload for the Takoma?
