Thanks- yes, took a better look at the construction and before I had assumed i'd need to disassemble the slide/galley. Tonight I realized I could do as you say- cover then just move it all out of the way. Props to OK4WD for getting Schutt to send replacement hose. As soon as it gets here...
Hey gang- looks like I have a busted hose. The one running from the water heater to the shower. Seems a zip-tie dug through the "armor" and abraded the hose. I haven't started to look at how one disassembles the galley unit to get to such a thing, and as mentioned earlier, the manuals are not...
Just took delivery today! Thanks to the whole crew at OK4Wd in Stewartsville, NJ. Set me all up. Wish this shop was closer to home!
Slogged through traffic on the way home, so barely made it before dark- so pics will have to follow. Looking forward to moving gear from the 2door JK!
I will...
I've not (yet) gotten into real trouble in the dirt, but have found myself in trouble on the water a few times. This story and this thread reminded me of one particular time.
My now-wife and I had about 1000 miles of sailing experience,pre-GPS, hand marking charts using a combination of...
Just got word that my XV3 is headed our way next week. Excited for sure- just back from 6 weeks/6k miles with 2 adults and two dogs in a 2 door... looking forward to the flexibility!
Ok- I am in! Thanks to Jim at OK4WD for working through the build order. Have pulled the trigger and am headed into the build queue. Looks like a 12 week lead btw- longer than I hoped for but aren't we all getting used to being more patient than we were.... (Who am I kidding, yesterday would...
Looks great and a good reminder that not everyone can be on a multi-week expedition and that you can get an awful lot of experiences in short times! Keep up the good work.
Great write up and photos! Following with envy from the Northeast where we are missing, well, all this stuff. Added some of these vistas to my must-do list.
Great suggestions- thanks! Definitely going for dual battery- I have camera gear to charge, etc. Also I am considering installing a diesel heater with a duct to the RTT- Northeast seasons are too short! I have an all-in-one that I have been playing with and may just move it over.
Thanks! I have 3.73 / 2k limit, had hoped the dry weight would be a little lighter. The limit on the 2door is rough. I might give a look at the venture xv3. It is all aluminum and dry weight is about 900lbs. I do love seeing what is happening with these Scouts though!
Thanks for the feedback. I am especially interested in notes like re: the expanded lighting as I want to start with a nice clean build! Do you have a fridge/slide in the cargo? Trying to see what the max height that fits under the cover is / what size fridge fits (w/slider)
Looking at pulling the trigger on an XV3 and wanted to see if there is anything anyone here would have configured differently, wished they had added/didnt do, or added/removed later?
I am planning on moving my Eezi-Awn RTT from the Jeep, mount a 270 awning, with a galley, water heater...
Hey guys,
Pretty sure I just digested 184 pages of this amazing thread, but wanted to see if I could get any feedback on pulling a Scout with a 2 door jk. Right now I have everything in the JK, with a RTT and I am trying to assess moving to a trailer to get that high weight off the jeep and...
