Haven't purchased anything. Started this thread under 3 weeks ago in the interest of research. Leaning toward the EP 20 at present with an upgrade to SC2030 down the line, contingent on satisfying need for a monitor. If the cheap monitor is "good-enough" and the cheap controller works...
I haven't demanded anything from anyone. If the information shared here can help someone, I hope they take full advantage. My odd/specific requirement is spelled out in the battery manufacturer specification/recommendation sheets on the first page. I really would prefer not clogging up a list...
The Eco-Worthy MPPT20-1 is a MPPT charge controller with programmable setpoints and sells for ~$102. The range of the setpoints is not specified as such in the manual but it appears 15.5v might be the upper limit so I'd say it should allow 14.8v. Translation of the manual probably leads to the...
Oh and don't be swayed by someone in bespoke camper business, like Aunt Ida. Bet if that business was poptops instead of truck-campers the lyrics would be changed but it'd be the same old song and dance.
I wouldn't let anyone with no credible vanning experience sway you. Get out there and try some out on your own before drinking that koolaid. Take under consideration how important standing room seems to be when in fact there's less than a 3rd of Aunt Ida's camper length dedicated to it.
I love the space and being able to sleep more people, stand up, and the extra windows and ventilation plus being able to fit under the covered parking at my apartment as opposed to hunting for one of the very few uncovered spots. It's the best of both worlds for me, having height and space when...
Post in the camper van forum. More traffic over there. I couldn't get a feel for where you are geographically in the engine compartment from that video but I'm watching on my phone in traffic so that might be the problem.
You give hours of use per day for the LED lights (but not power consumption) and stereo (no power consumption for it either) and the same info can be figured for the recharging of iphones, ipad, and lanterns but the hours of use per day for the Propex and ARB50 will be needed to give you a real...
certainly a theme going here! huskyhauler, how do you like it? I'd be interested in a review! Most I can find are tiny home ppl or emergency preparedness people, not much from actual campers and none from van/ambulance campers. A serious concern of mine is if it rattles in transit.
Yeah I dry-bake muffin mixes when camping on a dirtbike in a similar fashion. Always an option to just bake on the stovetop but not exactly fuel efficient. I'm not looking for ways to bake, just reasons I should fit an oven in the van. Thanks though.
HA! I had this tab open when I read your reply LOL http://www.amazon.com/Camp-Chef-Camping-Outdoor-Burner/dp/B0013LLSZG/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_pdt_img_top?ie=UTF8
I think that'd be nice to mount real well inside and remove when appropriate. Keep heat out of the van, etc. Just not sure the...
Posted over in overland chef about this but I expect a lot of foodie bias there. Who has an oven in their van and actually uses it? What do you use it to bake? I'm trying to decided between a cooktop and a range I'm not convinced I'd use the oven. It does take up a good bit more space and costs...
Designing my interior and have come to the range vs cooktop decision. I know I want a couple burners but do I want to sacrifice the space needed for an oven? If you use your oven, what for? I don't bake often even at home but the "just add water" muffins are probably my most common use, that and...
