    1992 E350 7.3 glow plug harness help

The Ford # for the harness is P/N F0TZ-9A451-A. You can roll your own: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1053287-how-to-make-your-own-glow-plug-wiring-harness.html Or hit up the IH dealer. They're usually cheaper than Ford. If you get the harness for a 94 IDI Turbo you can probably avoid...

Electrically challenged....Help me design a house battery system

A 100 watt panel produces an average of about 6 amps per peak sun hour, or about 30 amp-hours per day. You don't want to discharge your battery bank more deeply than 50% and most expedition people plan to recharge in a single day (use at night, charge during the day) so your battery capacity is...

    Age vs. Mileage

Things I consider with any motorized purchase: age, mileage, exposure. Age is just that, how old is it? Mileage can also be hours, or use. And exposure is whether or not the item has been stored indoors or out, in a salted winter environment or not, etc. For me exposure matters most, followed by...

    Newbie AWD Astro Overlander Build

When build-out time comes you'll be on a firm foundation, unlike the guys with nice interiors, solar panels, and water systems sitting roadside in BFE with gas $ but not headgasket $.

FOX Steering Stabilizer kit for E_Series (WTD)

oh wow I didn't read the whole page. Yes, get that 1/32 of toe turned into 1/8 or even 3/16 depending on tire diameter. Taller and wider tires tolerate and frankly need more toe-in.

    What Fresh Water Tank?

You can: a) use your existing tank and add a submersible pump inside it to feed faucet, etc (fixes your leaking cap/tilting the tank problem) b) replumb your existing system to pump-in from multiple sources and pump-out to the tank, faucet, etc (doesn't fix your leaking cap/tilting the tank...

    97 E350 Winne 4x4- Ski Bum Mobile

Tables are available from most tire mfgs with load/psi relationships outlined. I tend toward higher inflation pressures for longevity, mileage, handling, etc ESPECIALLY with duals.

    Heater Control Valve

My coolant filter is an aftermarket addition. Always a good idea with a heat exchanger to prolong its life. Should be fine a on/off valve with a 5.4. The OE applications with this engine and a heater valve appear to use a 2 port. If no 2 ports were used OE I'd advise against it. Some engines...

    Heater Control Valve

Yes, that's correct. I did this because it's how Ford did it (the part I used is OE on dozens of Ford vehicles) and it allows constant circulation through the (aftermarket) coolant filter on the heater return line.

    What Fresh Water Tank?

This system might work for you. You can basically ignore everything but the (light blue) "Fresh" lines and the tank. Allows filling a fixed tank from any source: bucket, pressurized hose, sink, gravity, etc and using a pressurized hose in lieu of the tank even. A good system for endless hot...

    Heater Control Valve

That $60 "kit" is this $10.75 valve (rockauto price, before 5% discount) and about $10 of hose and clamps. The valve is the stock replacement. I use "2002 Ford Ranger 2.3L" because I used to have one and know how it fits. I plumb mine like Ford did, no heat flow in MAX or OFF but you can plumb...

    Heater Control Valve

You got it. Ain't no bypass valve. I've successfully added the vacuum-actuated valves from late-model Rangers to other Fords. Works a treat at keeping A/C and "vent" air cooler.

    Newbie AWD Astro Overlander Build

Dumped an entire bottle of Seafoam in at lunch... In where? To clean a sticking valve stem it'd be best to add it to the intake stream. It would require a leaking valve stem seal for Seafoam added to the crankcase to reach the valve stem/guide and you've given no indication that's the case...

    Newbie AWD Astro Overlander Build

Sticking valve guides is fairly common on the 4.3 but it's really a case of cause and effect more so than just a tight tolerance on valve guides. Cause A: Leaky intake manifold gasket causes lean condition leading to partial burn (aka misfire) in cylinder causing excess build-up on valve stem...
