    '90 Mercedes 917 Camper Build

It's an way to smash up your dash and break your windscreen. It's not the kind of mistake you make twice. I used to keep the wheel nut wrench behind the seats until an old timer schooled me. I used to have a Leyland roadrunner and thought that the glass footwell panel seemed like a good idea...

    Dehydrated beer

I have no need for dehydrated beer, but spending a while travelling in America certainly changed my opinion of US beer. For every yuengling, coors and miller, there's hundreds of word class microbreweries producing beers that are easily as good as many of those found in Europe. My only...

If tyres in this size are so difficult to find, perhaps it is best to change to a more common size now?

    Big custom camper sightings

I was of course talking figuratively. Anyway, what's the point in having 18 tonnes of GVW if you can't have a ceramic butlers sink?

    Big custom camper sightings

I can see the attraction of being able to drive out into the boonies for a few days with your toys, but it's not really a practical proposition for an extended long distance trip. Most travellers seem to prefer the freedom of a more practically sized rig, and are willing to sacrifice having the...

    TerraLiner:12 m Globally Mobile Beach House/Class-A Crossover w 6x6 Hybrid Drivetrain

The tank on my truck (about 450 litres) lasts us around 10 days to 2 weeks if we aren't being too careful and with this capacity we rarely have trouble filling up. In the US we mostly filled up at camp grounds in state parks or national parks, often we just asked nicely and didn't even have to...

    '90 Mercedes 917 Camper Build

Festo is an old name used by festool tools. To me it looks like a simple air cleaner for a compressed air system, perhaps for separating oil and water?

    One happy Customer

It looks like a lot of space on a small platform, but surely there's the potential for a simple problem that immobilises the truck and means that you can't drive the truck out from under the camper to fix it?

Need ideas for how to do plumbing from a gravity fed water tank to my bathroom sink

How about a foot pump? Whale make some cheap and reliable ones which are used and sold all over the UK. I guess there's comparable items for sale in the US. http://www.whalepumps.com/marine/product-application-items.aspx?Category_ID=10016&FriendlyID=Manual-freshwater-galley-pumps

Anti-Luce clips in the USA. What do you guys call them and where do I find them.

That catalogue page is from a UK distributor called Albert Jagger. They're a great source of general commercial vehicle body building equipment. I have an account with them so let me know if you get completely stuck.

    The little Freightliner that could

What's the plan for the truck? A 20kw generator is surely too big for running a motor home? The bores will glaze running a few air con units.

    12V DC fridge

From memory I saw vitrifrigo fridges, although they may have had Waeco units. Most of the decent compressor fridges use danfoss compressors so it's just a matter of choosing a fridge with good insulation and robust construction.
