small update...... i have removed the front ARB winchbar i had on which i have sold, thought id post some pics of the hilux "frontless" in preparation for a custom tube winchbar- I tied the spotlights to the grille just to get an idea of the position the spotlights will be in when all is done...

These little fourbies are awesome.....live front axle too and coils all around.....some people that modify them here in Australia fit the bigger 1.6 engine from the auzuki vitara into them aswell as hilux diffs front and rear for more strength, gearing options and wider track.

Heres a couple pics of new Hilux's with 80 series landcruiser front diff conversions showing the diff centre of the 80 series diffs as being on the left hand side of the vehicle - Another one - And one more..... All used an 80 series front differential.

I too have 3.73's in the hilux......do you regret not going to 4.5's ? Aren't the 4.5's a stronger crown and pinion than the 4.8's ? and will you take advantage of the new final drive ratio and go a taller tyre in the future? I cant wait to have some spare cash for this mod...

nobody makes a tyre that size, BFG KM2 is 255/80x17.....equivalent to a 255/85x16 just to suit the 17 inch rim....same diameter and width.
